Giyuu stood by the mission board, his usual calm, stoic demeanor in place as he read through the latest updates. A fellow Demon Slayer—a pretty, chatty girl with short hair—sidled up next to him, leaning in a bit too close for comfort. He had balls to approach a Hashira so easily.
"So, Tomioka-san," she said, her voice honeyed and playful, "I've heard you're one of the strongest out there. Must be hard, having everyone rely on you all the time."
Giyuu blinked slowly, his mind focused more on the mission than the conversation. "...It's just my duty," he replied in his usual monotone, clearly not catching the flirtatious tone.
She giggled, leaning in even closer. "You're so humble. It's really attractive, you know."
Before Giyuu could respond—not that he would have noticed the intention behind her words—he felt an intense presence behind him. Obanai stood a few feet away, arms crossed tightly, his mismatched eyes narrowed at the scene in front of him. His jealousy flared instantly, the sight of someone getting so close to Giyuu making his blood boil.
The girl didn't notice Obanai and continued her attempt to flirt, her hand brushing lightly against Giyuu's arm. "I bet you get a lot of attention. Someone like you... must have admirers lining up."
Obanai's patience snapped. He marched over, his voice cutting through the air like a blade. "Tomioka, we have a mission to discuss."
The girl flinched slightly at the sharp tone and turned to see Obanai's cold glare fixed on her. Giyuu, as oblivious as ever, simply nodded. "Alright," he said, completely unaware of the tension.
Obanai grabbed Giyuu's wrist—not too forcefully, but with enough urgency to send a clear message—and pulled him away from the girl. She stared after them, confused and slightly offended, but didn't dare follow.
As soon as they were out of earshot, Obanai let go of Giyuu's wrist, his jealousy bubbling just beneath the surface. "You're seriously clueless, aren't you?"
Giyuu looked at him, genuinely confused. "What do you mean?"
Obanai huffed, crossing his arms. "She was flirting with you, idiot."
Giyuu blinked, his face still as unreadable as ever. "She was?"
Obanai clenched his fists, his jealousy flaring even more at Giyuu's obliviousness. "Yes! And you just stood there like nothing was happening."
Giyuu tilted his head slightly, the realization slowly dawning on him. "I didn't notice."
"Obviously," Obanai muttered, his voice dripping with frustration. He wanted to keep arguing about it, but instead he just turned away, trying to calm himself down.
Giyuu, after a moment of silence, stepped closer to Obanai, his voice soft. "Does it... bother you?"
Obanai shot him a sideways glance, his cheeks flushing slightly. "Of course, it does! You're dating me." His voice was gruff, but there was a hint of vulnerability behind it.
Giyuu stared at him for a long moment, then, in his usual quiet manner, he gave a small nod. "Alright."
Obanai blinked, his jealousy momentarily forgotten as he processed Giyuu's simple response. "What?"
Giyuu looked at him calmly. "If it bothers you, I'll be more careful."
Obanai's heart skipped a beat, his jealousy fading into something softer. He was relieved, a small smile that couldn't be seen behind the mask. "Good. You'd better."
