The tension in the safety zone was palpable as Mira Thompson gathered her crew for the urgent meeting. The flickering lights cast long shadows on the walls, and the hum of machinery felt ominous. The reality of their situation weighed heavily on everyone—trust was eroding, and fear was rising.

“Everyone, we need to address the situation head-on,” Mira began, her voice steady despite the turmoil swirling around them. “Tara’s involvement in the sabotage is troubling, but we can’t stop there. We need to dig deeper and uncover the full extent of what’s happening on this station.”

Dr. Patel nodded, her brow furrowed in thought. “If Tara is involved, it’s possible she isn’t acting alone. We should consider anyone who’s shown unusual behavior in the past few days.”

Reyes crossed his arms, his expression serious. “What about the crew member Tara was talking to? We need to find out who that was and what role they played in this.”

Mira felt a surge of determination. “Agreed. We need to gather more information and confront anyone who might be connected to this sabotage. We can’t afford to overlook any details.”

As they discussed their next steps, Mira’s mind raced with possibilities. They had to be cautious; the saboteur was still among them, lurking beneath the surface, and they couldn’t risk another breach of trust.

“Let’s split into pairs,” Mira suggested. “Reyes, you and I will check the logs and any security footage regarding Tara and the unknown crew member. Dr. Yu, you and Dr. Patel should question Tara about her conversations and see if she can give us more information.”

The group nodded in agreement, a renewed sense of purpose igniting their spirits. They quickly organized their tasks, each pair determined to uncover the truth hidden beneath the surface.

As Mira and Reyes made their way to the control room, the corridor felt unnaturally quiet, as if the station itself was holding its breath. Mira couldn’t shake the feeling that they were being watched, but she brushed it off—fear was a natural response in their current situation.

Once in the control room, Reyes immediately accessed the security footage. “Let’s start with the day of Dr. Ellis’s death,” he said, pulling up the video feed. “We need to see if Tara had any contact with that other crew member.”

Mira watched intently as the images flickered to life. The corridor outside the hydroponics bay came into view, and she leaned in closer, scrutinizing every detail. “We need to look for any patterns in their movements,” she instructed. “If they were conspiring together, it should show up here.”

As the footage rolled, Mira’s heart raced. Hours passed in mere seconds until they finally spotted Tara entering the hydroponics bay, followed closely by the unknown crew member. They exchanged hurried words, and Mira strained to catch what they were saying, but the audio was muted.

“Pause it here,” she commanded, her mind racing. “Can you enhance the audio?”

Reyes nodded, working quickly at the controls. After a moment, the sound crackled to life, though it was still faint. They could barely make out snippets of conversation.

“…oxygen levels…need to distract them…” Tara’s voice came through, shaky and urgent.

“Just stick to the plan,” the unknown crew member replied, their voice low and raspy. “We’ll handle the rest once the chaos ensues.”

Mira exchanged a glance with Reyes, her stomach twisting. “This is worse than we thought. They’re definitely plotting something more dangerous.”

“Let’s check the logs for any communications between them,” Reyes suggested, his fingers flying over the console. “If they’ve been in contact, we should be able to find the evidence.”
