(Nadia calls Omar while Mahad is sitting with him.)
Omar: Hello?
Nadia: Omar, how are you? And how is Mahad?
Omar: We're both fine. Mahad is sitting right here. Do you want to talk to him?
Nadia: Actually, I need to talk to both of you.
Omar: Sure, go ahead.
Nadia: I've sent a court notice against Latif for Mahad's case. I want both of you to be present on the assigned court date so we can make sure Latif gets punished.
Omar: Alright, Mahad and I will be there.
Nadia: Good. I also want Mahad to record a video, just in case he can't speak in court. We can show the video as evidence if needed. Also, make sure to bring the medical reports and other documents.
Omar: Don't worry, Mahad is strong and will speak up. As for the medical reports, we'll show the marks on his body in court.
Nadia: Okay, whatever you think is best.
(Mahad, Omar, Nadia, Ibrahim, and Yusuf are sitting in the High Court, while Latif is seated on the other side.)
Lawyer 1: Your honor, Latif has physically abused Mahad, and there are visible marks on his body.
Latif's Lawyer (Lawyer 2): Your honor, these are just accusations with no solid proof. It's actually Nadia who didn't take proper care of her child, and he injured himself due to lack of attention. He's a mentally disturbed child who harms himself because his mother neglected him.
Lawyer 1: Your honor, I have Mahad's medical reports with me, which confirm that these are marks of child abuse.
Latif's Lawyer (Lawyer 2): Your honor, Nadia had divorced Omar when Mahad was just an infant, and since then, he's been living with Latif, who has provided everything for him. This is all due to Mahad's mental issues, caused by his mother's neglect. These accusations against Latif are baseless.
Lawyer 1: Your honor, I request that Mahad be called to testify and clarify whether these injuries are self-inflicted or caused by Latif.
(Mahad is called to the stand)
Lawyer 1: Mahad, would you like to tell us who did this to you? Did you hurt yourself, or was it Latif who harmed you?
Mahad: No, I didn't do this to myself. Whenever Latif got angry, he would hit me with belts and sticks.
Lawyer 1: Your honor, you've heard his testimony.
Judge: Based on the evidence and witness testimonies, the court finds Latif guilty. According to Section 364-A, which deals with child abuse involving minors over the age of 14, the court sentences Latif to life imprisonment.
(Latif is taken away, and Mahad hugs Omar, breaking down in tears.)
Omar: beta, stop crying now. Everything is fine. Latif has been punished, and no one will trouble you anymore.
