(I deeply apologise if this story is rushed, bad and or just downright messy. Dandadan has been my thing for a good few weeks now since i heard there was going to be an anime announced, and since then i have read the whole thing and dove deep into my own thoughts on my favourite ship. I basically have completely disregarded some characters from this story to make it nowhere near as cluttered as it could be, which is why things may seem all over the place within. I have no idea how long it will be, or good. I apologise in advance)
I don't know where to start with this. Maybe I need to go back a little while to just previously before it happened. Just before he said that phrase, just before he spoke those words, the words that had my heart on strings. The simplistic phrase that I wanted to hear again and again on repeat; The simple phrase I wanted that damn Otaku idiot to say to me one more time, just so I knew it wasn't my dumb ass imagination playing up on me again. I wish he just said it to my face the next time he saw me, but no, after we resolved all issues that played up following the stupid board game he had to go and say that shit instead. Really?
*2 days prior*
The school bell rang irritating my ears once more, As I rose from my chair the two flourishing friends of mine disappeared out of the door as quickly as they normally arrived giving a swift goodbye before they went off doing their own thing. I had expected him to come by, normally he does, he'll wait outside the door or he'll come in and help me pack up on occasions because of how needily cute he is just so we can skip to walking home hand in hand as we usually do day by day. This time, he didn't come. I waited for a moment, nothing. A moment more. Nothing. I wouldn't have taken it to heart if it was anyone else, or if it was someone who didn't usually do such a thing, but because it was such a regular occurrence, when it didn't happen today, it had me worried.
I walked out of that classroom to an empty hallway, no sight of him possibly trying to scare me. I kept walking, gradually picking up the place, seeing more and more students that looked weirdly similar to him over and over again. Not a single one was him, I even ran past Aria and Jiji at one point, completely disregarding the two of them much to their disgust and complete confusion at the same time. I ran outside expecting him to maybe be waiting by the gates, but no.. nothing, he wasn't there, HE wasn't there. At this point all thoughts were running wild, was he kidnapped, taken away by someone unknown, or known.. Maybe he's with another girl, wait why would he be with another girl there's no way that stupid Okarun would-
"Momoooooooooo!" Jiji shouted tapping the brunette on the back her skull with enough force to make her wince in some way before struggling and attempting to wrestle with the boy who just attacked her.
"You look... stressed, you know you'll lose those looks of yours if you keep looking like that" Aira spoke with a smug look on her face that caused Momo Ayase to just scold her.
"Okarun isn't here.. did you guys see him?" Momo spoke out clicking her heels trying to look like she didn't care as much as she did, although Aira definitely knew, Jiji was trying his best to be oblivious to the situation at hand.
"Nope" Jiji muttered staring off into the distance.
"Yeah!" Aira conflicted, smiling at her and pointing off to the side. Suddenly, the two of them stared at one another in confusion, their faces dropped knowing that they completely contradicted one another's words and they had both known that they fucked up in some way.
"Woah Woah Woahhhh, what are you two scheming here huh huh huhhhh?" Momo demanded getting all up in Jiji's face abruptly and so suddenly that he didn't really have time to react to what happened next.Their lips connected. Although the two of them would have said it was just their teeth bashing against eachother, the subtle fact their eyes both closed and the obvious fact that Jiji somehow lost his footing causing the two to topple over one another and end up in a suggestive scenario made this whole event seem like something, intentional. This scene turned the heads of most if not all students in the near by area, some pointing, lauging even awing at the events. Aria simply screamed and covered her face not wanting to see such a repulsive action happen. At the same time a certain Otaku abruptly dropped whatever he was holding and walked, no, ran in the opposite direction.
"WOAH- I- I'm so sorry" Momo shouted, flustered, rising as quickly as she fell, making sure her knees weren't dusty she bent down and wiped them clean all while breathing a little too heavily for things to be considered bad.
"I-I uh d-didn't mean to fall Momo- I-" Jiji muttered, covering himself with his arms hiding his obviously flustered face from the girl he just kissed once more.
"I- Im so sorry Jiji, I- I have to go!" Momo spoke out, whilst breathing extremely heavily, running off in the direction of her home past the small box that laid on the floor not even acknowledging the note that washed up with the air she caused running past it. As she ran off into the distance, the boy on the floor to just sighed in annoyance at the events that just occurred and the pink haired girl just shook her head in utter disbelief and walked away.'Okarun, please, where are you!!!" She spoke out in her head as she ran and ran down the street, causing her bag to flail around as she struggled to keep her skirt at bay from exposing herself to passers by. She kept running and running until she reached her grandmothers house.
"Grandma! Is Okarun- " Momo spoke out as she swung the door open with her powers, but she stopped in her tracks so abruptly due to the sight she had wanted to see for hours.
"Okarun!" She spoke out in joy with a small blush flourishing across her face, until that gorgeous smile turned into worry when she saw him holding a duffle bag and pulling a suitcase through the halls, as well as the way he looked towards her, normally when their eyes met there was a sort of zing, their faces blushed and they always struggled to keep eye contact. This time, it was completely different. He looked up at her with a look that can only be considered sadness, mixed with a floury of disgust
"O-Okarun what are you doing? You idiot what's w-wrong?" She spoke out, reaching forward trying to grasp his hand but was met with a small move of the shoulder to avoid it all completely, it surprised her, it confused her, it worried her a great deal."Miss Ayase, I-I'm leaving. I'm going to return home today, so you're not involved with anything to do with me anymore." He muttered, avoiding her gaze as he couldn't bare to see the disappointment and the sadness that immediately washed over her.
"W-What do you mean? A-After all we have been through together you- you're trying to just leave like I don't want to help you through everything?" She said progressively getting louder and louder each syllable that left her mouth. As she said that he subtly pushed past her to leave the house, she looked at him in pure annoyance as he did this.
"Miss Ayase please let me through." He said, adjusting his glasses as she tried her very best to keep him inside without using her powers as an advantage, as at this point he still had none to his name. As the argument began to unfold Jiji and Aria turned up at home, standing confused, bewildered at the sight they were seeing.
"Miss Ayase. I am leaving." He reassured, as he walked past her brushing off her every attempt to try and grasp his hand, or his arm, or any part of him she could get ahold of.
"No- No- Idiot you can't just leave- Aira tell him, Jiji please!" She cried, tears genuinely welling up at the thought of her man leaving so abruptly.Jiji and Aira just stood in silence, heads lowered at the sight they were seeing unfold infront of them. At this point even the others had come along, stood in utter silence at the same moment, at the ending moment, the conclusive moment that shocked everyone.
"It's final, I- I'm leaving, and I- I won't come back here, I- I don't want to see you again Momo. Never again. N-never." He shouted, pulling his arm away from her so aggressively she took a step back in shock. Part of her was so shocked that he dropped all formalities with her, but the reason he did was the obvious way he meant every word he just said, she cried. She lowered her head and cried as he walked away, as he left through that shrine saying his brief goodbye to Aria and Jiji in conclusion, letting the sounds of the suitcase bashing against the rocky floor fade off into the distance. They all collectively stood in silence, they stood worried at the sight that unfolded before their very eyes, but the rest of the group mainly stood silently because they had no idea how to compute seeing Momo Ayase in such a state. She was on her knees hands against the floor, bashing against the groin with tears streaming down her face, she repeated his name over and over again in all the formats she knew it as. It was not a sight they wanted to see, but one they had seen due to a large misunderstanding.
