Chapter 1: The Golden Cage

Mina sat at the large bay window, staring out at the streets beyond her family's estate. The world outside always seemed so distant, almost unreachable. The estate was beautiful, with manicured gardens and towering gates, but to her, it felt like a cage.

"You have everything you need here, Mina," her mother would say, her voice as smooth and detached as always. "There's no need for distractions from the outside world."

Mina's father, a stern man who was always more focused on business than family, added, "You should be grateful. Not every girl gets to live like this."

But Mina didn't feel lucky. She wasn't allowed to talk to anyone outside her family or the select few visitors her parents approved of. The world beyond the gates was a mystery she was forbidden to solve.

"I wonder what it would be like... to feel the wind without the walls around me," Mina thought, resting her head on the cool glass of the window. She watched as people passed by on the streets she was allowed to walk, never too far from the mansion, never alone.

Chapter 2: Forbidden Curiosity

Mina's parents dictated every aspect of her life—what she wore, what she ate, even the books she read. On the rare occasions when they allowed her outside, she could only walk along a few designated streets. Her world was small.

"Why can't I go further?" she once asked her mother, who had given her a dismissive glance.

"Because you're safe where you are, Mina," her mother had replied. "Out there, it's chaos."

Mina had learned not to ask questions after that, but the curiosity never faded. Every step she took outside the house made her feel closer to something... a life she couldn't touch.

"Maybe tomorrow I'll go one street further... just a little," she told herself, her heart racing at the thought of breaking her parents' rules.

Chapter 3: The Sound of Silence

Mina didn't talk much. She wasn't allowed to speak to anyone unless it was through her parents' approval. Her voice felt distant, foreign even, as though it belonged to someone else.

"You should be quiet and obedient," her father had often reminded her. "It's unbecoming for a young lady to speak too much."

So, Mina stayed silent, even when her thoughts screamed for attention. Sometimes, she tried to imagine what her voice would sound like if she were free to use it, if she could laugh, yell, or even cry without fear of disapproval.

"Would anyone listen? Does anyone care?" she wondered.

The silence weighed heavy, suffocating her as much as the gilded walls around her.

Chapter 4: Lana's World

Lana, Mina's only real companion, was a maid employed by her family. Unlike Mina, Lana came from a world full of freedom, even though she worked under strict conditions. Whenever she was around, Mina felt a strange mix of envy and curiosity.

"What's it like outside the gates?" Mina whispered one day, daring to break the unspoken rule.

Lana looked hesitant, her hands busy folding linens. "It's... it's big, Mina. Full of people, different lives. You'd like it."

Mina's heart fluttered. She wanted more than just the glimpse of life she had from her window. But Lana's answer only deepened the ache inside her.

"I wish I could see it," she confessed, her voice barely audible.

Lana paused, her eyes softening. "Maybe one day..." she murmured before quickly changing the subject, as though her words might cause trouble.

Chapter 5: Boundaries Tested

One day, while out on her daily walk, Mina found herself at the edge of the last street she was allowed to walk. Beyond it, the world stretched out, full of unknown possibilities. She stopped, feeling the pull of the forbidden.

"Just one step... what's the harm in one step?" she thought, her heart pounding.

But the fear of her parents' wrath held her back. She turned on her heel and retreated home, her steps heavy with regret.
