Chapter 46: The Microphone Surprise
After the shock of discovering the tracker, the group gathered around Mina to figure out how to remove it. Nande was kneeling beside her, carefully trying to locate where the device was sewn into the fabric.
"Hold still," Nande said, pulling out a small knife. "This might take a minute."
Mina stood awkwardly as Nande carefully worked on cutting the small piece of fabric where the tracker was hidden. She couldn't help but feel embarrassed as everyone stared at her skirt.
"This is so humiliating," Mina muttered under her breath.
Haru, trying to lighten the mood, chuckled. "Hey, at least it's not a bomb or something, right?"
Mina shot him a glare. "Not helping, Haru."
Just as Nande finished removing the tracker, Ashia leaned in to inspect Mina's vest, noticing something odd around the hood. "Wait a minute..."
"What now?" Mina groaned, already mortified enough from the tracker situation.
Ashia pulled at the fabric of the hood, revealing a tiny black device tucked inside. "There's a microphone in here!"
Mina's face turned bright red as she stared at Ashia. "You've got to be kidding me...!"
Kana burst out laughing. "Wow, Mina. First a tracker in your skirt, now a mic in your hood? What else are you hiding?"
"Nothing!" Mina exclaimed, completely flustered.
Chapter 47: The Tracker Removal Fiasco
Getting rid of the tracker seemed simple enough—at least, that's what they thought. Nande had managed to cut it out, but now they needed to make sure it was fully deactivated.
"Okay," Kana said, holding up the small device. "Now we just need to crush it, or smash it—whatever works."
"Please be careful," Mina pleaded. "I don't want it exploding or anything."
Kana waved her off. "Relax, it's just a tracker, not a bomb."
But as he went to crush it under his boot, the device sparked slightly, causing everyone to jump back in alarm.
"Whoa! What was that?!" Haru yelled.
Kana laughed nervously, kicking the sparking device away. "Uh... maybe we'll let Nande handle that."
Nande rolled her eyes and stepped forward, picking up the tracker carefully. "You're all useless. Let me deal with this."
Chapter 48: Removing the Microphone
While Nande dealt with the tracker, Ashia and Haru worked together to figure out how to safely remove the microphone from Mina's hood.
"Okay, Mina," Ashia said, trying to keep her voice calm. "We're going to have to cut it out."
Mina groaned. "Do I even want to ask how it got there?"
Ashia shook her head. "Probably slipped it into your clothes when you weren't looking. Your parents must've really wanted to keep tabs on you."
Mina sighed heavily. "Of course they did."
As Ashia gently cut through the fabric, Mina could feel her face burning from the embarrassment. "This has got to be the worst day ever."
Haru smirked, glancing over at Mina. "Well, look on the bright side. At least we found it before they sent more guards after us."
"Yeah, great," Mina muttered, crossing her arms. "Thanks for checking my clothes so thoroughly, by the way."
Ashia chuckled. "You're welcome."
Chapter 49: Mission Accomplished
After what felt like hours, the tracker and microphone were finally removed and deactivated. Mina stood there, feeling a mix of relief and embarrassment as she adjusted her skirt and vest.
"Alright, all clear," Ashia said, patting Mina on the back. "No more creepy devices."
Mina sighed in relief, still feeling a bit flustered. "Thanks. I really didn't need that kind of invasion of privacy."
Kana grinned, clearly enjoying her discomfort. "You know, Mina, if you wanted us to check your clothes, you could've just asked."
"Shut up, Kana!" Mina snapped, throwing a small rock at him, which he dodged with a laugh.
Haru, trying to keep things light, added, "Hey, at least we're all safe now. That's what matters, right?"
Mina couldn't help but smile, despite her embarrassment. "At least I'm not going through this alone," she thought. "Even if they are annoying."
Chapter 50: The New Plan
With the devices finally gone, the group gathered around the fire to figure out their next move. Nande laid out the map, marking places where they could go next, now that they were free from the trackers.
"We need to keep moving," Nande said, pointing to the far side of the map. "There's a small town about two days from here. We can lay low there for a while."
Ashia nodded. "Sounds like a plan. But we need to be careful. Even without the tracker, they'll still be looking for Mina."
Mina frowned, leaning back against a tree. "I just want to stop running."
Haru, sitting beside her, gave her a reassuring smile. "We'll get there. Just a little longer."
Kana, of course, couldn't resist. "You mean we don't get to keep doing this forever? I was just starting to have fun!"
Nande gave him a look. "Fun? Really?"
Kana shrugged. "Hey, what's life without a little danger?"
Mina rolled her eyes, but couldn't help but smile. "At least I've got these idiots with me."
