chaewon's pov —
the music video of evie had been out for a few days now, and the numbers were beyond anything i could have imagined. millions of views, messages flooding in from fans and even from industry insiders. everyone loved it, calling it bold, daring—exactly what i wanted it to be. i should've been on cloud nine. but instead, i felt stuck.
my eyes drifted to the bouquet sitting on my desk. the flowers had been a surprise. well, maybe because she kept pushing me away for the past weeks. they arrived a day after the music video was released—bright, vibrant, and so very yunjin. tucked among the petals was a small card with a short message:
"congrats on evie! you killed it. proud of you. -yj"
i'd stared at that card for longer than i care to admit, re-reading those few words over and over. it was thoughtful, sure, but distant, much like how things had been between us lately. yunjin always seemed a bit closed off with me, even more so after that photoshoot we did together a while back. every time i tried to talk to her, she pulled away, never letting me get too close.
and i didn't know why.
i sighed, glancing at the flowers again, frustration gnawing at me. It felt like no matter what i did, yunjin always kept me at arm's length. sure, we worked together, but beyond that? it was like there was a wall between us. and it was starting to hurt more than i wanted to admit.
