(Spencer pov)

It had been three days since the storm of emotions blew through my life like a tornado, a chaotic whirlwind that unexpectedly left a warmth behind. Sunday and I had been hanging out non stop since that afternoon, spending nearly every spare moment together as if creating our own world, a refuge from the noise and chaos of life outside.
Today was ice cream day—one of our little spontaneous rituals that always brought a smile. I lounged on Sunday’s couch, legs tucked up underneath me, faint hints of her favorite candles flickering around the dimly lit room. A cool breeze slipped through the open window, and the soft strains of music avoided the static noise that had been my constant companion for too long.
“Spencer” Eli's familiar voice erupted into the room, pulling me from my thoughts as she bounced in, her energy infectious. Noah trailed behind her. “What are you doing here looking all dressed up?”
Before I could respond, Eli was upon me, enveloping me in a hug that felt like sunshine. “ Or did you come over here just to mope?”
“Honestly? Quite the opposite, actually,” I said, matching her energy as I ruffled her hair. “I came to hang out with Sunday, but it looks like you two are here to steal my thunder.”
“That’s because we’re just better, duh” Eli declared, striking a pose. Noah rolled his eyes but couldn’t help the smirk creeping onto his face.
“Whatever helps you sleep at night, Eli,” I shot back playfully, pushing her and laughing at the friendly banter we had going on.
But the teasing faded into a small sigh as I checked my phone and saw that I had been waiting for about thirty minutes. Sunday had told me she needed some time to get ready, but it shouldn’t take this long. I made my way to her bedroom door, knocking lightly.
I knocked lightly on her bedroom door and called out, “Hey, are you still alive in there?”
“Don’t rush me, I'm almost done” she called back, and I could hear her voice through the door, tinged with both annoyance and amusement.
“Yeah, but it’s been 30 minutes, You’re not going to the Oscars, it’s just ice cream” I shot back, half-teasing.
After a few moments of playful banter, the door finally swung open, revealing her in a comfy crop top and sweatpants, hair cascading down like a waterfall. Her casual look somehow made her even more perfect.
"I'm almost-"
As she stammered out a protest, I cut through her words and took her hand, already pulling her towards the front door. “Great Let’s go”
“Wait I'm not even—” she began, but I was already rushing down the stairs.
“You look perfect” I shot back, and she rolled her eyes but couldn’t help the smile sliding across her lips.

The drive to the ice cream shop was lively with chatter, our conversation flowing as easily as the cool evening breeze coming through the car windows. We pulled up to the familiar neon sign glowing above, and even before stepping out, Sunday’s excitement was palpable.
“Okay, what are you getting?” I asked as we entered the shop, where the rich smells mingled together like a chaotic dance of flavors.
“I don’t know there's too many choices” she exclaimed, eyes darting across the colorful menu above.
I watched her for a moment, amused. “You’re going to have a breakdown over ice cream, aren’t you?”
“I might What if I end up with something awful and I regret it for the rest of my life?” she said, looking genuinely concerned.
