Happy reading ...
I tried focusing on the work in front of me, but no matter how hard I tried, all I could feel was the memory of her soft, lush, warm lips on mine. Her being dominant, taking control in a way that caught me off guard.
But what really threw me was how she forgave me. Completely. For everything.
I didn’t deserve it, and we both knew that. Yet, she did. And now that she had, I knew it was time to make amends. To be worthy of her forgiveness.
A date. A proper one. That would be the perfect idea, the perfect escape for us. Yes! I grabbed my phone, barking orders into it as plans began to form in my head.
I was still away from my office, but my absence was starting to affect the business. Dad wouldn’t be happy when he heard about it.
Just as I finished with the call, my phone buzzed with an incoming video chat. The name brought a smile to my face. Siya Di.
I answered, and there she was, smiling wide. "Hello, Nakshii!" she teased, drawing out the nickname she knew I despised.
I groaned. "Not again, Di!" I whined like a child, which only made her laugh.
"Anyways,"she said, shifting the conversation. "When are you coming to see Aaryansh? He’s been asking to meet his Mamu. And..."she paused for effect, "he’s been asking if there’s a Mami coming with you."
I chuckled, shaking my head. "Di, I’ll come see him soon. But that..."
She cut me off with a knowing smile. "What about you and Aarna? How is she? Ever since we met her for business, we haven’t heard much."
At the mention of Aarna’s name, my heart swelled, and I couldn’t stop the smile that crept across my face. "We’re doing well,"I said, my voice softening.
"Good,"she hummed in approval. "Bring her along next time. She looked a little tense when we met. Maybe seeing Aaryansh will make her feel better."
I agreed, ending the call with the thought lingering in my mind. Maybe this would be the perfect escape for both of us. But would she be okay with it?
*******
I am sitting in Aarna's living room.I stared at my phone for a moment, unsure if I should bring it up. The thought of seeing Siya and Aaryansh made me happy, but involving Aarna in this felt different. It wasn’t just about us anymore—it was about bringing her into my family, letting her be part of something bigger. I knew Aaryansh would love her, and Siya... well, Siya would ask a million questions.
I glanced over at Aarna, sitting on the couch, her eyes focused on a book but her expression distant. Something weighed on her mind, and I wasn’t sure if it was the right time to ask, but I couldn’t shake the idea.
Clearing my throat, I finally spoke. "Aarna, can I ask you something?"
She looked up from the book, her eyes soft but questioning. "What’s up?"
I hesitated, then pushed forward. "Siya called earlier. She and Aaryansh want to see me...well, us. I was thinking it might be good for you too, you know, to get away from everything for a bit."
Aarna raised an eyebrow, closing her book slowly. "Us?"she repeated, a faint smile tugging at her lips. "Do they know about...us?"
I ran a hand through my hair, sighing. "Not really, no. Siya asked about you, though. She thinks you’ve been a bit tense, and well, I agree. I thought maybe spending some time with Aaryansh could help."
