It was Rosé's first day as a secretary at Kim Industries, and she was late.
But to be fair, it wasn't her fault. A series of completely unpleasant factors had led to her being late that day. She was in a domino effect, where everything had gone wrong as soon as she opened her eyes. For starters, the subway had broken down, the bus was 20 minutes late, all the taxis in Seoul had decided not to stop for her, and Lalisa had burned her breakfast. It was some otherworldly plot, it had to be. She ran desperately through the company's corridors until she reached her desk, panting.
“Are you okay?” the receptionist from the day before asked. From what Rosé had gathered, she would help her until she got the hang of it.
— I'm sorry I was late — Rosé asked, bending her body forward in an awkward bow.
— Okay, Miss Kim is waiting for you — the girl said, pointing to the room.
Well, that was it, Rosé was probably going to lose her job. She believed she had broken the record, less than 24 hours. The girl makes the sign of the cross before entering the room and finds Jisoo on her cell phone.
— I know, Dad, I'm fixing everything — she said, sounding quite upset. Whatever the conversation was, she didn't like it. When she noticed Rosé's presence in her room, she looked her up and down with a neutral expression, pursing her lips. Rosé didn't know what that meant, but it certainly couldn't be a good thing. — I need to take care of something, we'll talk later — she informed the person on the other end, turning off her cell phone and placing it on the table. — It's 10:00 — she said, crossing her arms and leaning back on the table.
— Forgive me, Miss Kim... — Rosé exclaimed desperately, but was shocked when she saw the woman laugh.
— It's okay Chaeyoung, forget it — he said, taking off his blazer and placing it on her chair. — Can I call you that? I saw that's your Korean name, do you mind?
— No — Rosé denied, looking embarrassed. That woman really was an angel.
— Jennie will be here soon to explain how my routine here at the company works. If you have any questions, just ask her.
— Who is Jennie? — Rosé asked with a frown. But before Jisoo could answer her, the door was opened making them both turn around. Rosé's eyes widened when she saw the presence in front of her.
— You sent for me.... What are you doing here? — Jennie asked when she also noticed Rosé in front of her. Park pulled her hair trying to hide her face, although she knew it was too late. If she hadn't lost her job before, she would lose it now. Had she noticed that the girl was important, but a friend of the owner?
— Do you know each other? — Jisoo asked, looking at the two girls in front of her.
— Yes, that one spilled coffee on my blouse yesterday. Because of her, I had to go to the Chinese partners' meeting smelling of coffee — Jennie accused.
— So it was you? — Jisoo asked laughing, looking at Chaeyoung. She remembered the younger girl having said something about that accident to her. Jennie turned to look at her furiously.
— Jisoo! — she called attention.
— Okay, I get it — Jisoo said, recovering from her laughter. — Jennie, this is Roseanne Park, she's my new secretary — she pointed to the girl who Jennie was still staring at furiously.
— Are you serious? — Jennie asked in disbelief.
— Yes, I hired her yesterday. I called you here because I want you to keep her informed about how things work.
