“Do you want to eat something?” Yukhei asked Jisoo as she checked her phone, waiting for a message from Jennie.

— No, thanks — she replied, putting the device in her bag.

“I’m sorry you had to come,” he apologized, sounding upset.

— It's okay, I know you didn't want to be here either — Jisoo exclaimed. — How is Yuqi?

“I haven’t seen you since I left China, I hope you’re okay,” he said with a heavy sigh. That matter affected him, it was inevitable for Jisoo not to feel compassion.

Jisoo met Wang Yukhei two years ago when her father introduced them at a business meeting, and they hit it off right away. However, when she found out some time later that her father had chosen him as her husband, it was a huge shock. He was nice and handsome, but he was obviously not her choice for a partner. She was already in love with Jennie. However, as she got to know the guy better, she realized that he was just as screwed up as she was. Yukhei told her that he was in love with someone else too, a girl named Song Yuqi, who he had met in college. Because she was from a humble background, her family was against the relationship, and her father determined that he would marry Jisoo so that the banks could merge as a family. In short, they were in the same boat. Forced to commit to people they didn't love, and in love with other people. They both accepted this nonsense, since they knew the consequences of going against their parents. But they reached a mutual agreement, a secret between them. The marriage would only be a business deal, they would never consummate it, and they could continue seeing their true loves in secret. Since they were together in this, at least they could be friends, there was already too much hate in that story. Jisoo never told Yukhei about her relationship with Jennie, he just knew that she liked someone else. She thought it was a man. People always think it could be a man.

“I’m sure she’ll get in touch with you,” Jisoo tried to reassure him. At least she saw Jennie every day, she had her next to her. Now Yukhei was away from the person he loved, and he didn’t know when he would see her again.

— Thank you Jisoo — he thanked her with a smile.

— Since we had to leave work, let's spend those old bastards' money on something — Jisoo suggested, and from the look on Yukhei's face he agreed.

Contrary to expectations, Rosé arrived on time.

It was a rare event that she managed to not be late for something. The table next to her was empty, which meant that Yeji hadn’t arrived yet. Which was strange, the girl wasn’t usually absent.

— Chaeyoung — Jisoo's voice made her jolt back, dropping pens on the floor. — Sorry, did I scare you? — Jisoo asked worriedly when she noticed the blonde's state.

— No, it's okay.

— Can you come to my office? I need to talk to you.

— S—Sure — Rosé agreed nervously. She just hoped she wouldn't be fired, with her luck she wouldn't be surprised. She followed Jisoo to her office and sat in the front chair while Kim took her place.

— I'm going to travel to Beijing, and I need you to come with me.

— Do you want me to go? — Rosé asked confused.

— I need to take care of some business matters. I need someone who knows my schedule to be with me. Jennie usually does this role, but she's busy with other matters at the moment — Rosé was silent for a few seconds. — Oh, obviously you'll get overtime for this, don't worry — Jisoo clarified.

— Okay, I'll go. When do we leave?

— Tonight. Sorry for the last minute.

- Don't worry.
