The Maze Runner

In darkness, he wakes, no past in his mind,
A box lifts him to a world he can't find.
A light flickers red, screeches all around,
He doesn't know by who he's yet to be found.
The Glade is his prison, the Maze looms tall,
With no way out, they either escape or fall.

Runners race through stone walls that shift,
Searching for answers, a secret, a gift.
But the Maze is alive, with creatures that chase,
Grievers that stalk in a deadly embrace.

Thomas arrives, a spark to ignite,
Curiosity burns, a fire for the fight.
Thomas wants to help the people,
So he runs into the maze,
And takes part in a long life-or-death chase.

With Minho and Newt and others, too, he plots a new way,
To escape this prison, and see the light of day.

Teresa descends, the only girl there,
The past they forgot is a burden they share.
She holds the key to the world's cruel fate,
But time is running, the Maze won't wait.

Thomas stabs himself with a griever's sting,
To find out what his memories would bring.
He finds out and is filled with guilt,
for he was a reason the maze was built.

A serum, a code, the door swings wide,
Through pain and loss, they flee to the side.
But WCKD awaits, the world's far worse—
A plague spreads wide, like a fatal curse.

They are saved by people with weapons and pride,
taken up high in a helicopter ride.
Chuck has passed, and others, too.
Everything would change and that's their truth.
