I recall the early mornings I spent awake as I had traveled through the underground, I had things to remember and do, people to save and help. I remember waking up in my own bed with the desire for love years before. It's the same now.
I sit up and rub my eyes, the morning sun pouring through my window. As my eyes get adjusted, I see the gift I was given apon releasing the monsters to the surface. I bite my lip and get up, still not up for anything today.
The sun filtered through the trees of the newly-built town, Sans and Papyrus house off to the distance, framing the cheery gleam of the morning rays with its own blue color. But why was it blue? I shrug to myself, it's not what I should worry about right now.
I walked along the sidewalk, greeting the usual monster that roamed around all while I head to Toriel's. She and Asgore had put aside their differences, and he had apologized, after all, they now had Asriel to take care of again. I still lived alone. Which was fine, I had frequent visits from everyone, Undyne, Alphys, Toriel, Asgore, Sans, Papyrus, even Mettaton and Napstablook came around sometimes, I enjoyed every second of their visits.
Someone call to me from across the street, it was Sans. I grin and wave to him, his own permanent grin widening. "Heya Frisky, long time no see."
It's been less than 24 hours since I've seen him.
"Yup, I've been counting down the hours till I see you again." I respond, I was grinning, so he knew I wasn't serious. Or was I?
"Toriel made some butterscotch pies, but 5. Now there's 4. Blame Flowey and Asgore, they love those pies (π) to a 3.14 × (some unknown number)." He says in his lazy tone.
I'm pretty sure that was supposed to make sense. I smile anyway because it was stupid..
He wasn't at all lazy, he was always taking care of Papyrus, working several jobs, (but taking many, many breaks) and he always found some kind of time to socialize. He made young 13 year old me happy when I first met him, and now I'm almost 17,and I still found him great.
"Still trying to keep Mettaton away from papyrus?"
"Yup. It's not working. They've uh- gotten a bit... Y'know... But I don't mind at this point, everyone is picking up lovers like candy. How sweet is that?" He grins once more and I smile. God, I wish I had somebody.
"Muffet finally opened her shop, I need to stop by some time." He holds back a groan as I say this, it makes me smirk, I knew he wasn't the most fond of Muffet, but I was.
"She just gives me the creeps."
"She's a goddamn spider, Sans."
"I'm not blind. But, yeah."
I mentally curse him but crack a smile, he was so stupid yet so funny. (He was very, very smart)
"Well, she and Grillby have mysteriously gotten along, Grilbz asked about you sometimes, says your a good kid and stuff like that, he's not wrong."
I smile again, he was only three years older than me, but treated me as if I was still 12, he was a 15 then. It seemed like such a large age gap, now not that much, 17 and 20 I mean.
I say goodbye to him and walk through the town, making a mental note that I had a meeting as the embassador on the twenty-second, today was the sixth, so... fuck- I hate math. A few weeks.
The day goes on and I'm mentally, and physically spent. I was not looking forward tonight and the nightmares I might have, but I guess it'll be over within... 8 hours of sleep. Sweet.
