A shot

"As promised", Aether said as he put a shot in front off me, "first shot goes out to Hunter". I was sitting on the couch cross-legged. I took the shot out off Aethers hand as he passed around the other shots as well. Scara was sitting next to me and I saw Kinich sitting on the ground on the other side off the coffe table. I couldn't help but look at him as he took the shot out off Aethers hand. I slowly brought the shot to my nose to smell it.

I almost gagged as the fumes hit my nose. "Jezus, what is this?", I said laughing a bit. "Well, your first one will be a proper one", Aether said as he sat down next to Kazuha. "It smells awfull", I replied to which the others started laughing. "It will be your one and only one for the night. Well, atleast a strong one like this".

"Anyways! Cheers to Hunter joining us on this weekend!", Aether said raising his shot. Everyone said cheers at the same time and I saw all off them downing the shot like it was nothing.

Well, here goes nothing..

I put the shotglass to my mouth and tried to swallow it all in one go. And mann was it gross..

I started coughing after I swallowed it noticing the liquid buring my throat. "Man that tastes awfull", I said with a displeased face. I couldn't help but notice Kinich laughing because of my reaction, and it made my heart beat a bit faster..

"Well, you did it. Your first real shot", Kazuha started gaining my attention,
"Try not to drink to much for now. I'm sure you'll feel the effects off this one in a few minutes. "Sure", I said still disgusted with the after taste, "can I ?", I said to Scara reaching for his glass. "Sure", he said still laughing a bit. I washed it all down with some coke.

"I'm glad thats over, you guys do this for fun?", I asked them. "Well, there are a lot off different shots, but this one is always to get us in the mood", Aether replied. "In the mood for what?", I asked him being a bit confused. "You'll see, its the feeling you get from being tipsy. Its a great party starter".

"So", Kinich started, "are we gonna continue our truth or dare game?". "I like where this is going", I replied. "Yeah, lets do it", Scara said leaning all the way back against the couch.

I guess this was my moment..

I turned myself around a bit and layed down with my head on top off Scara's legs. Without a second thought, he put a hand on my chest not bothered by it. "Who wants to start?", Scara asked. "I vote Hunter", Kazuha spoke up to which I turned my head towards him. "Then that makes two off us", Aether said supporting Kazuha. "Fine", I replied thinking off who to ask and what. "Scara", I started as I looked back up, "truth or dare?".

"Truth, lets start simple", he replied looking down. "Uhm.. wait, why did I pick you. I already know most off the things about you..".

"Why is Kinich your best friend", I said pointing at Kinich. I guess it was all I could think off at that moment. "Oh, well.. I guess I think he's really cool and we click well together. As friends that is", Scara replied. "Okey, then its your turn", I quickly said being happy my turn was over.

"Kazu", Scara started, "truth or dare". "Wait, you call him kazu?", I interupted. "Yeah? Why?", Scara asked, but I just shook my head. "No nevermind. Just never heard it before". "I'll do truth too. Next time I'll do dare", Kazuha replied. "Okey, uhm.. I've never soon you in a relationship before. Who's the last person you were attracted to?", Scara asked. My eyes widened as I looked at Kazuha. I noticed a blush on his cheeks. "I'll do dare", he suddenly spoke up. "Now you've just made me more curious", Scara said with a grin on his face. I pushed him in his side to get his attention. I looked at him and slowly nodded my head from left to right.

This was not the moment for it..

"Fine, different question then", Scara said giving in. "No, I'm curious", Aether said as he shoulder bumped Kazuha. "No one, okey?", Kazuha replied, "I'm not really looking for that right now". "Oh.. okey, that's perfectly fine", Aether said. We could all see Kazuha was a bit lost in his thoughts. "Your turn, then", Scara said getting Kazuha to snap out off the state he was in. "Y.. yeah. Uhm.. Kinich", Kazuha said to which Kinich looked up. "I'll do dare", Kincih replied. "Tell us a secret nobody knows yet", Kazuha asked. Everyone was now interested in what Kinich would say.

"Oh, uhm..", he started thinking on how to answer. "Well, lets not ruïn the mood, but I got message that my mother has passed away a few months ago. Been keeping in for myself cause I don't know what to do with it".

The room fell quiet and my eyes widened. "Oh, Hunter", Kinich suddenly started scratching the back off his head. "The others already know, but my mother left when I was about 7", he said as if it was nothing.  "Oh wow..", I replied, "I didn't know that..".  "But I told you all. Lets not ruïn the mood", Hunter. Truth or dare?", he said giving me a small smile. I sat up straight and rested my head against Scara's shoulder. "I'll pick truth then for now", I replied trying to set aside what Kinich just told us.

"What happened to your parents if I may ask. We all know you and Scara aren't actual brothers, but I guess I'm just curious".

"Tch, goodluck with that", Scara suddenly said, "he hasn't even told me what happened". "Oh, you've never talked about it?", Kazuha asked to which Scara shook his head no.

"Anything you wanna share?", Aether asked me. "Well..", I started, but Aether interupted me. "You don"t have to if you don't want to". "No.. its fine I guess. Kinich also shared something about himself, I just don't normally like to talk about it".

A silence fell throughout the room as I thought off how to say it. "I went to live with Scara when I was 12", I started, "so not even that long ago I guess..".

They could all see I had some trouble telling the story, but they gave me enough time to do so. "So..", I started actually loosing the words I wanted to say. It was still kind off fresh in my memory..

"My father used to have.. his way with me..", I started gaining confused looks from the others untill they almost simultaneously realized what I meant. "I think our neighbours or something found out and called child protective services. And when they deemed my mother not fit enough to care for me and they deemed my father too unsave, I got placed into a shelter home untill Scara's parents wanted to take me in. Haven't heard from them since"

The room was quiet. I hadn't noticed it yet, but I suddenly felt tears fall down my cheek. I sniffed up my nose as I whiped away the moist around my eyes.

"What Kinich said", I started while laughing a bit "lets not ruïn the mood". I suddenly felt Scara pulling me in against his chest.

"I'm sorry, I didn't know"
