As we left the hospital wing, Madam Pomfrey gave us a final warning. "Hurry along now, or you'll miss lunch. And I don't want to see either of you back here unless it's truly necessary." looking directly at Draco, which made me chuckle.
We were walking together in silence, When I turned the wrong way down a corridor, Draco suddenly grabbed my arm, pulling me in the correct direction and then letting go again.
I stumbled slightly, ''Idiot" he muttered under his breath. I glared at him but decided not to argue. Instead, I just followed him, biting back a sarcastic comeback. I wasn't about to give him the satisfaction of starting another argument.
Soon, the bustling sounds of students in the Great Hall filled the air, and I spotted Pansy waving at us from the table.
As we sat down, Pansy immediately started talking, her voice filled with amusement as she handed me the food she had saved. "I saved you some food, Ave, since I wasn't sure if you'd make it back in time. And Draco...," she said with a smirk, picking up a green apple, "you can have this."
Draco frowned, clearly unimpressed, but still took the apple with a huff before sitting down next to me. He kept some distance, though, and immediately started talking to Crabbe, Goyle, and Blaise, who were asking him about his arm. I decided to ignore their conversation and dug into the food Pansy had saved, mumbling a quiet thanks to her.
As I ate, Pansy launched into a rant about how annoying Hagrid's lecture had been on hippogriff safety, especially after the incident with Draco. "And now we've got to write about it," she added, rolling her eyes dramatically. "Can you believe it?"
I groaned. "Awesome. Just what I needed."
Pansy then turned to me. "So, how bad was it, having to take care of Mr. Drama over here?" She nodded towards Draco with a playful grin.
I chuckled, glancing at him out of the corner of my eye. "Honestly, it wasn't as bad as I thought, except for the constant whining about his agonizing pain," I teased, grinning.
Draco shot me a sharp glare and muttered, "Regarde-le, Avery!" (Watch it, Avery!)
I just rolled my eyes in response, but Pansy looked between the two of us, clearly confused. My chuckle at her expression didn't help much.
"Wait, wait," Pansy interjected, her face scrunched in confusion. "What did he just say? And why are you both speaking French all of a sudden?"
I smirked and shrugged. "Oh, didn't you know? Draco here is full of surprises. Turns out he's fluent, like me as I told you last night."
Draco rolled his eyes, taking a bite out of the apple with a loud crunch. "I'm more than just fluent, Black," he added smugly.
Pansy just stared between us, clearly trying to process this new information. "So... you two bonded over speaking French?" she finally asked, genuinely curious.
I shrugged again and smiled. "Guess you missed out on that one, Pansy."
She huffed, pretending to be annoyed. "Well, you better not leave me hanging for him"
I laughed and answered ''Ofcourse not''.
