---Vic's POV---

When I woke up, I noticed that my room was all dark. How long had I been asleep? I felt refreshed, though my cheeks were dry from tears. My memory quickly ran through my mind as I remembered what happened. Mike got back, and I had a meltdown.

I picked up my phone to check the time but was surprised by numerous texts and 2 missed calls from Kellin. Oh no, what if he needed me? I click on his name to call him back but realize its 1 am. I put my phone back down and fall asleep again. I still have 5 hours until I get up, after all.

---Kellin's POV---

I awoke with a bad back pain followed by a groan. I must have slept wrong. Despite the sharp pain I get up and start getting ready. Honestly, I am too mentally exhausted to put any effort in my outfit, so I just settle for skinny jeans and a hoodie. The cuts are healing nicely and I think in less than a week they won't be visible, meaning I can wear short sleeves again.

Since I showed last night, I didn't bother showering this morning, so I just brushed out my hair and left it.

I checked my phone, reading 6:21. It had already been 20 minutes? Since I still have 40 minutes until I should start walking, I decide to watch band interviews on my phone.

I'm not gonna lie, I don't think my dad was even here when I got home last night. That means I don't have to worry about him right now.

I lay in my bed being unproductive for about 30 minutes due to my sore back. How am I supposed to go to school like this? Eventually though I push myself to get up and start walking to school with my earbuds in.

I get to school with my earbuds in still. I am eager to find Vic, since he didn't answer any of my calls or texts last night. I go over to my locker, but he isn't there. I stride through the hall but see no signs of him.

I sigh and trudge over to the bathroom to play games on my phone but stop in my tracks when I hear hushed yelling. I put my ear to the door and listen.

"Well you can't just show up at my fucking school and expect me to be fine with it!" A familiar voice whispers harshly. I almost immediately recognized it as Vic's voice.

"Where else do you want me to go? Mom and dad want me at school as soon as possible." Someone replies with a feisty tone.

"Mike, go anywhere else but here. I could hate you for what you did." Vic says more softly but the frustration is still in his voice.

"How do-" The so-called Mike starts but is interrupted by me entering the bathroom.

"Hey." I smiled gingerly at Vic. I walked over to him and delicately grabbed his fingers, signaling for him to leave the room with me. He got the message and glanced at "Mike" before grabbing my hand and leaving.

While walking down the hall with him I remembered something, and now would be a good time to ask since I was curious about it.

"Why weren't you at school yesterday?" I questioned, looking into his eyes. He just made an unsure face, looking away.

"You know that guy in the bathroom?" He murmured nervously. I just nodded for him to continue.

"Well, he's uh..." He stopped for a second before continuing.

"He's my brother, but he's been in a ward for the past year." He mumbled.

I frowned at that. I didn't know anything about this, but I wanted to know more. I knew it was probably hard to talk about, but my curiosity outweighed my common sense, so I silently asked him to go on.

"He uh..." He stopped to clear his throat. "Last year he got put in a psych ward because-" He began but I cut him off with a loud groan in pain followed by me stumbling to my knees as a sharp pain shot through my upper back. He immediately rushed to his knees to catch me. I curled up in his hands mid hallway as my face twisted up with agony and discomfort.

"Oh my god, I'm so sorry Vic. My back has been killing me all day." I frowned at him, still on the floor. I got up quickly and held out a hand for him to help him up.

"Don't worry, babe. You can lay down once we get to lunch." He hums.

"But Viccccccc! Thats like 3 periods away!" I whined.

He cracked a smile at me, and I could tell he just came up with a mischievous plan.

"Why don't we skip?" He grinned. I thought about it for a second but nodded. Only at his house though. I don't need my dad coming in and beating the shit out of me or Vic.

"Okay then let's go" He chuckled. He grabbed my hand and pulled me towards the exit, glancing around once more to check if any teachers were around. I looked behind my shoulder as well but noticed something weird. Mike was standing around a corner, discreetly watching us. As soon as we made eye contact, he quickly disappeared out of sight.

I furrowed my eyebrows as I turned back towards Vic. He seemed to notice and looked at me with a worried expression. He turned around to see what I was looking at. but of course, saw nothing.

"What's wrong?" He asked with worry written on his face. I just shook my head and smiled, giving him a quick kiss on the head.

We got out to his car and buckled up, driving up the road to his house. Once we got there, he gently held my hand out to the door and brought me to his room. I flopped on his bed immediately and pulled him down with me.

"Lay with me." I pleaded, I made a sad face at him and he gave in, lying beside me. I giggled and held his face in my hands. kissing it all over while giggling.

He smiled and kissed me back. We made out for what seemed like forever until his mom burst into the room, leaving us both sitting there in embarrassment as we hastily pulled away, straightening out our clothes.

"Oh um, who is this?" Vic's mom asks suggestively. Vic blushes profusely and covers his face, while I just look away in embarrassment.

"Mom!" He yells, smiling cheekily.

"Okay okay, but he needs to leave, whoever he is, because you are supposed to be at school, aren't you?" She smiled, but I could see how she was frustrated. Maybe she wasn't yelling because there were guests over, being me, so I got up and put my shoes on to release the awkward tension. I waved bye to him, and he just smiles faintly. She turned around and waved bye while smiling.

As soon as I closed the door, I could hear her yelling in Spanish to Vic. I felt a little bad, but I ignored it because I didn't want to go back in there and get a Mexican whooping. I quickly ran out the front door and walked home. Hopefully dad isn't home when I get back.
