Kaitlyn looked around suspiciously while walking down a beaten path.

"Are you sure this is the right way?" Laura gripes, also looking around for danger. Kaitlyn knew this was gonna be a long walk.

"I don't know, okay? The house is fucking huge just look up and you'll probably see it." Kaitlyn snapped at her.

"If you are leading me the wrong way just because your friend back there is close with Chris -" Laura starts complaining before being cut off by an angered Kaitlyn,

"Jeez do you have to be so fucking difficult?! I've never even been to the damn house!"

Laura looked at her shocked.

"Are you fucking serious? Why the hell did you come with me then?" She groaned.

"Because I don't totally trust your little story you put on back there. I want to know the entire truth from Chris himself." Kaitlyn replied as they stopped to look up at the Hackett estate.

"Now, how are we meant to get in?" Laura asked.

"Fuck dude. This is your plan, not mine. Fucking figure it out!" Kaitlyn shouted again. Laura thought about what to say next. She knew she was being selfish, and it was obviously hard to get along with her since no one had but max for a good few months, but she needed to get in that house.

"Look, I know you're worried about your pals back there, but this is the best way to save them. Chris is a werewolf, and if we find him, everyone he bit will go back to normal."

Kaitlyn sighed and looked around. Suddenly, she stepped on something wobbly. Like a wooden plank. Before she even had the chance to say something, they both fell. The water was cold but not unbearable. But Laura didn't seem to agree.

"Fuck! Augh fuck get me out of this!" Laura yelped, frantically swimming to nearby land. Kaitlyn followed.

"What the hell was that?" Kaitlyn asked, pointing her weapon at Laura suspiciously. Just one closer look at Lauras eyes was enough for Kaitlyn to realize what was happening. Laura was bitten.

"Laura... get back." She said sternly.

"Woah woah. Wait, just wait." Laura said, trying to reason with the smaller girl. "You're right ok I am bitten, but I can fight it off, I promise."

Even though she just met this girl, and frankly, she didn't much enjoy her company, Kaitlyn couldn't help but believe Laura.

"Ok, let's go." She said, lowering the gun and walking towards the stairs.

The two go through some risky paths and dangerous situations before reaching a wooden arch that seemingly leads to a cellar.

"So, what's your deal?" Laura blurts suddenly. Seeming more confident and calm than before.

"What do you mean?" Kaitlyn asked.

"Well the strong leader type doesn't usually leave their group behind." Laura explained.

"Well, I'm so sorry I don't fit into a perfect little box for you. Is that why you're being so antagonistic?" Kaitlyn remarked.

"That's not what i meant." Laura sighed. She was starting to feel a bit bad for hounding on her too much.

"I guess I just don't know enough about you." She explained.

"So those were your friends back there? How are they? We could've been counselors together, remember?" Laura asked, hoping to learn more about them all. To be truthful, Laura had been in a cell for so long, and she felt like the world was moving on without her. She could've been there for longer, and she didn't know if anyone would've even noticed she was gone. She hated that thought.

"They're great." Kaitlyn replied, "I feel so bad for leaving them behind, but they were all just in too much pain already. They don't deserve to see more death and destruction than they already have. I mean fuck... I cut my best friends hand off. His hand!" She added.

"At least they all have each other back there." Laura said, looking much more genuine, though her glowing yellow eyes were still quite unsettling.
"So, are those two a couple? The jerk and the giant?" Laura asked. Though Kaitlyn didn't appreciate the name calling, she knew who she was talking about anyway.

"Why do you care? You don't want Ryan, do you?" Kaitlyn said, more aggressively than she meant to be.

"No... but apparently, everyone else does." Laura jabbed at Kaitlyn, getting her right where it hurts. Laura was right, Kaitlyn did like Ryan. Though most people would have a falling out over things like that, Kaitlyn and Dylan were different. They bonded over it. They thought of it as a shared interest, and they were both willing to put each other's feeling before their own if Ryan had ever reciprocated either of their feelings. Still, it did cause Kaitlyn a little pain, but she'd get over it.

"I just meant they were all touchy Feely in the pool house before. They always had their hands on each other, and the tall guy liked to stare that's for sure. Not to mention that brooding guy seemed so intense unless he was talking to Lanky over there." She explained.

"They have names, you know. Ryan and Dylan." Kaitlyn hissed. "They're not dating, but I know they want to. After this, I can't imagine them not." Kaitlyn finally exclaimed, sighing a little. They stood in silence for a little while before she spoke up again.

"It was just a crush anyway, I'm happy for them." She sighed.

"So it's just you four then? I didn't know the camp was that understaffed." Laura commented.

"No. There are three others, but I don't know where they went." Kaitlyn seemed extremely worried for them.

"Nick, he's... one of those werewolves now. He attacked Abi right before you got to the pool house and ran off. The other two were out fighting, or making out, or something, but they haven't come back since it was barely dark. They don't have weapons or anything, and I'm worried for them." Kaitlyn huffed a heavy breath like she had been waiting to say something eagerly.

"Right, well, unless they went to the island, I think they'll be okay. Hey, maybe they're already back to the lodge by now." Laura said, trying to make the smaller girl feel better. "Now let's go. We need to find Chris."

Kaitlyn nodded in agreement, and they headed further into the Hackett estate, with determination.
