Her POV:

The moment my eyes opened I was laying in my bed; I touched my head and found a slight bump in the back of it. The lights were too bright so I squinted my eyes and when I adjusted to the lighting the first thing, I saw was Caleb sitting besides my bed, looking at me with concern.

"Hey, are you ok?" he asked in a gentle tone that reminded me of when we were little.

I nodded but for some reason my gaze was roaming across the room to find someone else. Yesterday I would have given an arm and a leg to see my brother in person, but somehow today everything is changed.

"Where is Alex?" I asked and Caleb's jaw hardened. The fucker was here a minute ago, I don't know where he is now.

"Did you hit Alex?" I immediately asked my brother and he just looked the other way, his jaw as tight as ever. Which means he did. So, what I saw wasn't a dream. I actually kissed Alex, Caleb saw and he hit him right before I fainted from seeing his blood on the floor.

I tried to get up and Caleb helped me. Just then Alex arrived by the doorway of my room and looked at me, before talking to Caleb.

"The car is ready, lets go chances are with minimum traffic we will make it to school in time." He said and rushed outside.

To school? I wondered and then I remembered it was my graduation today. My eyes widened and I searched for my heels which were missing.

"Here I got them." My brother was holding my heels and my black suit and hat. I managed to somehow grab a small fanny pack with all my essential makeup and with Caleb's held we were in the car. Alex was driving and Caleb was sitting beside him while I was in the back.

I felt much better now, and I tried to touch up my makeup, mostly the lipstick that was smudges when Alex deepened the kiss.

A small smile grew on my lips when I realized that Alex was into me too. But the big mountain sitting besides him was glaring bullets in my husband's skull.

Soon we reached school and Caleb lead me towards my seat once he was sure I was comfortable he walked towards the seating arrangement for the family members.

His POV:

She walked across the stage in that beautiful white dress, covered by the black coat and hat, beaming, and received her diploma. Everyone was cheering, and so was I, but when I did not hear a cheer from anyone else, I looked at Caleb and found him looking at me.

"You care for her ha?" he asked out of nowhere, and I decided to be honest with him.

"I do I always have, you know it."

He stared into my eyes. I knew my eyes reflected nothing but the truth and my honesty. I cared for his sister as if she were my own since she was a blabbing kid, and now that she has turned into a beautiful woman, my feelings for her have evolved, too. From just caring about her and making sure she was safe in the last eight months, somewhere, I started loving her. Not in a sisterly way, but a husband should love his wife like a man loves a woman.

Her attempts to seduce me never went unnoticed. Even though I never entertained any of them and made her believe that I was just looking after her in her brother's stead. Partly because she was a minor and because it was wrong on so many levels and I was trying to navigate through my changing feelings towards her. And partly because I knew it was common for young people her age to confuse infatuation for love.
