The next day I woke up to my parents barging into my room excitedly.
"Gosh good morning to you too" I say.
"Sorry hunny good morning but we are so excited, we got a phone call from mr Bombay anddd.." my mother says.
"You made the team!!" Both my parents say together.
"Wow oh my gosh actually?" I say excitedly.
"Yes Em's and you actually start practice today at 12 pm so get ready chop chop Bri" said my father.
"Today?? already, oh my well ok i'm so excited!" I said, I really was excited but also nervous of joining a new team.
"Ok well bye hun, bye Bri I will see you guys later I gotta get to work!" my father says.
"Bye hunny" my mother says giving him a kiss.
"Bye dad" I say getting out of bed and giving him a hug.
When my mom left my room I got off of bed again and I went to my closet to find some comfy clothes i can wear for today. I am nervous of playing on a new team but also happy because yesterday when playing I felt so alive, it felt good to play hockey with other people again.
One hour later, I just got out of the shower and finished putting my hair in two braids and now i'm going to really quick eat breakfast. I go to the kitchen and my mom's there.
"So Ems are you ready? you literally have practice in a hour!" my mom says excitedly.
"Yea my mom i'm so excited but also a bit nervous but I think i'll manage" i say.
"Oh Em don't worry about it I know you will do just fine" my mom says.
"Thanks mom I love you" i say.
"I love you too Emmy" my mom says.
I finish up eating my two waffles I put in the toaster and went up stairs to my room and grabbed my hockey bag to make sure I had everything. After that I went down stairs to watch a movie while waiting to go to practice.
After about close to an hour later my mom came down stairs and told me it was time to leave for practice. Wow when she said that I got a wave of nervousness, it made me realize this is actually happening. I'm on a real team again that's gonna play real hockey. When i get in the car i grab my walk man and play "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" by Tears for Fears. When I finally arrive to the rink i get a rush of excitement, I really don't know why but i'm getting all these emotions. When i walk into the rink I say bye to my mother and I walk into the locker room and all eyes are on me. Help.
Bombay comes out his office and comes up to me saying "You made it! very good I have a jersey waiting for you right there" he says as he points to a locker that is now mine.
