The next day I woke up to Berry whining which meant she was hungry, so I reluctantly got up, went downstairs and poured some food into her bowl. While she was eating I grabbed myself a plate of some waffles and a glass of milk. As I was eating my waffles Berry came to my glass of milk and started to drink some. I was already moody but now I was even more moody. I snatched my glass of milk away and continued to eat. As I finished up my mom came down stairs and said good morning to me. My dad had already left to work early so I didn't see him this morning.
"Emmy get yourself cleaned up and make sure you have everything, you have practice today at 12 again." my mother told me going back up stairs, it was already 11 am.
"Yes mom got it" I replied.
When I finished eating I went to the sink and washed my dishes. After I went upstairs and got ready quickly. About 30 minutes later my mom sticks her head through my door and reminds me to hurry and that we are going to leave soon. Once I get my hockey bag I slip on my white low top converse and headed outside to the car as my mom starts the engine.
"So hunny I should have told you immediately butttt... I got a call informing me that you and your team are going to play hockey for the USA!!" my mom tells me as we pull out of our drive way.
"No way you are lying!! no wonder I heard that man call us team USA oh my goshh!!" I said. It's starting to all add up that's why he called us team USA and why we got new recruits. I wonder why I didn't immediately get informed of this. I guess we'll never know but all I know is that I have to put in a lot more hours into practice.
"Yes Ems I am so happy, I should have told you way before but it's ok. They said you will going to California with your team to compete with other countries." my mom explains.
I cannot believe this. I join a team and not even a week later I am gonna play hockey with them for the USA!!! This is so crazy but honestly I feel so grateful for getting this opportunity.
After about 15 minutes later we arrive to the rink and I head inside, but before i exactly get inside my mom informs me she will be back to pick me up when practice is over. As I walk into the locker room going to my locker Connie greets me.
"Hi Ems!!, long time no see hehe, yesterday was so much fun we should totally do something like that again but imagine the stuff we can do in California!!" Connie tells me sounding excited.
"Oh that's sounds so much fun I'm so down to do whatever in California on our free time! and Hey Em!" Julie butts in.
"Hey Con and Jules, yes we should totally go out, we HAVE to go to the beach too!" I say as I change into my gear.
