2. The abandoned Salt warehouse

A few days later...

Location: The Salt warehouse
Date: 6th August 2019
Time: 3:15 AM

Outside the warehouse, one QUADRANT henchman was carrying a large wooden box as he was heading to the warehouse.

The warehouse itself was built 60 years ago by the town of Salt with at the time was famous for its delicious fish and chips and the warehouse remained open until the town of Dale merged with Salt 10 years ago.

At the same time, due to asbestos, the warehouse shut down, had the asbestos removed, but due to financial problems, the warehouse never opened, thous abandoned the building and became a sight for tourists and a secret base for QUADRANT.

As three QUADRANT henchmen were playing a game of Jim rummy, the lead QUADRANT soldier had finished packing the items they stolen into which person they stole from, as a QUADRANT agent came in the room.

QUADRANT agent 1: "Do you think that VIGILANTE will be able to find us with the stolen stuff we have?"

QUADRANT soldier: "They won't be able to, since they'll be busy with all the murders, bank robberies, and aggregated assaults with deadly weapons."

They both laughed evilly for several seconds.

The three QUADRANT henchmen were playing a game of Jim rummy when one of them was hit with a tranquilliser darts.

This alerted the other two henchmen and gotten their guns out.

Pixel Cat then got to the floor and fired three times, getting the other two henchmen.

They moved to the next area where they encountered another four QUADRANT henchmen and three agents.

The first henchmen fired three times, the second rushed to load his gun, the third hid behind a large wooden box, the fourth tried to fire but the gun was jammed and received a dart and fainted.

The two agents covered the third agent who was running to the next area.

Pixel Cat evades multiple shots from the first henchman before shooting another five times before his clip ran out of darts.

The first two shots caught henchman 1 and 4. The third and fourth to the two agents covering the third agent and the last missed the third agent by an inch.

The third agent then signalled another two henchmen armed with Glocks to stop Pixel Cat before running upstairs.

The agent ran to the first floor only to have a tranquilliser dart on his right ankle before limping to the three henchmen who were armed with ak-47 assult rifles before heading to the next room.

The soldier: "We will then have a van in an hour and pack up before 6am and leave, Hey agent Clive! What's - "

Agent Clive: "VIGILANTE IS HERE!!" Before agent Clive fainted due to the tranquilliser dart on his right ankle.

The QUADRANT soldier and agent were shocked.

QUADRANT agent: "What about the stuff we worked hard to steal from Soldier Smith?"

Soldier Smith looked angrily.

Soldier Smith: "Forget the stuff!"

Soldier Smith carried Agent Clive.

Soldier Smith: "We got to save our own skins, Agent Rob!"

Pixel Cat was now at the door to where Soldier Smith & Co was and tried to open the door.

It was locked, and the sound of Pixel Cat attempting to get in startled Soldier Smith and Agent Rob enough that they ran out the room via another door carried Agent Clive, who was out cold.

Pixel slammed the door two times before, in his third time, got the door broken from its hinges and was greeted by an unwelcoming QUADRANT henchman with a 75 Auto pistol, which Pixel Cat quickly shot him with a dart to his neck.

Pixel Cat then used a wooden table for cover as another henchman came in and destroyed the table Pixel Cat was using as cover with an auto shotgun.

Pixel Cat then shot a dart to the henchman's left shoulder and stopped to grab the auto shotgun.

Pixel came out from Wade's right ear.

Pixel annoyingly said, "No! Not with that weapon, remember?"

Wade groaned as he dropped the auto shotgun and went through the nearest door.

Another three henchmen were at the lower floor firing at Pixel Cat, who quickly sorted them out with his tranquilliser gun, then moved past a pile of one large wooden box and one small wooden box.

A QUADRANT agent came out of the pile with a knife and stabbed Pixel Cat in the back.

Pixel Cat grabbed the agent and put a tranquilliser dart where his human chin was whilst Pixel came out of Wade's right ear to remove the knife sticking out of Wade's back and dropped it to the floor.

Wade: "Thanks, Pixel."

Pixel: "Anytime."

Pixel got back in via Wade's right ear and continued their pursuit only to be greeted by a grenade without a pin!

"TAKE COVER!" Went one of the QUADRANT members in the warehouse.

Pixel Cat turned, but the grenade explodes, sending Pixel Cat to a group of wooden boxes that got smashed by Pixel Cat being sent down to the lower floor ground.

Pixel Cat grunted as he got up and spotted something.

Pixel Cat: "Huh?"

Pixel came out from Wade's right ear as Pixel Cat dragged out an open green box that reads military prototype.

Pixel: "How in the hell are they able to - No! Wait! Don't!"

It was already too late as Wade picked up the military prototype weapon and ran off.

The grenade that was thrown came from a QUADRANT agent as another three henchmen, two with 9mm burst pistols and one with an M4 assault rifle, came to assist the agent.

Pixel Cat came in front of the four  QUADRANT members with the military prototype weapon. Pixel Cat looked around for a moment, which confused the QUADRANT members.

Pixel Cat then aimed the military prototype weapon at the four QUADRANT members and the weapon charged with a green glow.

The four QUADRANT members were frightened by the weapon, and all four ran away from him, as hoped before aiming it to the room where the fireworks were.

Outside, Soldier Smith and Agent Rob managed to put Agent Clive at the front passenger seat with the seat belt on in a black Land Rover Discovery when they spotted four QUADRANT members running for their lives as an explosion happened which the green glow came out and eventually stopped, causing the fireworks to come out from the hole made in the abandoned warehouse.

Soldier Smith: "GO! GO! GO! Let's get out of here!"

And so the last four QUADRANT members got in the car, before all the doors closed and the engine started.

Pixel Cat came out of the back entrance of the abandoned warehouse to see a black Land Rover Discovery sped off into the night. So Pixel Cat decided to teleport away.

One hour later...

VIGILANTE was now at the scene of the crime where Captain Olivia arrived at the scene.

The Detective, Carlos Congress, was investigating what happened at the Salt warehouse.

Carlos: "Captain Olivia, I'm Detective Carlos. At your service."

Captain Olivia: "Nice to meet you, detective. What happened?"

The detective showed Captain Olivia around.

Detective Carlos: "We had checked the witness, and she was telling the truth about the green glow that then caused a hole in the warehouse that set of the fireworks."

Carlos showed the captain the weapon used in making the hole, and the fireworks go off.

Carlos: "This is the weapon that destroyed the room that housed the fireworks and made the hole in the wall."

Captain Olivia was shocked by it.

Captain Olivia: "How did QUADRANT get hold of this?"

Carlos: "We are checking it at the moment, and the other thing that was weird was that all the QUADRANT members we arrested were hit with tranquilliser darts."

Captain Olivia was surprised.

"Tranquilliser darts? Who would do that to them?"

Carlos: "We have two theories at the moment. One is that a QUADRANT member went rogue and led to the events up until now, or an independent hero must have followed them and did what he or she did. But until then, we'll have to find more evidence of what had happened."

Captain Olivia: "Well, let's get to work!"

And so they did, but It will take a while before VIGILANTE can truly know what had happened.

So for the next two days, the news reported on the exact incident, with the mayor of Saltdale actually praised for the unknown superhero for his valiant actions.

It was during that live statement that both Wade and Pixel watched it.

Pixel asked, "Have you ever thought of being a full-on superhero, like with Eddie and his symbiote?"

Wade: "You usually need to eat brains?"

Pixel panicked.

Pixel: "No! That's not what I do!"

Wade cheerfully exclaimed, "I'm kidding.

Pixel sighed in relief.

Pixel: "I'm not very good with jokes, but I'll work on it."

Wade didn't react. He just instead asked another question.

Wade: "What is the nearest place that crime is happening right now?"

Pixel used his telepathic mind to sense where the nearest place is having some crime happening right now.

Pixel picks it up and goes with an expression that was very concerning.

Pixel: "Oh no!"

Wade asked, "What?"

Pixel: "There is a bank robbery involving a giant machine that most VIGILANTE and national guards wouldn't be able to handle without help of elite members or heroes."

Wade put his hand where his forehead was, "Oh great, a purple bleeder. It's probably best that we prepare ourselves."

Pixel panicked.

Pixel: "WAIT! We need to add one more piece of combat equipment to our arsenal."

Pixel got inside of Wade via his right ear and teleported to a storage unit where it looked more like a workshop than a place to store stuff.

Wade asked, "Where are we?"

Pixel: "We are in a storage unit where..."

Pixel used his telekinesis to lift a futuristic looking orange sword.

"... We did all the shooting."

Wade got his tranquilliser gun, darts, and his mask on.

Pixel: "But now we are heading into melee combat."

Wade picked up the futuristic orange sword that was floating, thanks to Pixel's telekinesis.

Wade: "Pixel. Best we suit up..."
