VIGILANTE: Pixel Cat

5. Framed

Bob got his hand where the map was and got that hand out for Pixel Cat to take it.

Bob: "Anyway, please take this map... take a map!"

Pixel Cat took the map.

Bob smiled a little bit wider.

Bob: "Thank you, please enjoy."

Bob then left Pixel Cat alone, all without knowing the fact that he was, in fact, the real Pixel Cat.

Bob (from the left tunnel he went to): "Free maps any..."

Pixel: "You know. I don't hate that thing since he sincerely helped us."

Pixel Cat read the map, then checked the door.

Pixel Cat: "We are at the South entrance, meaning that we have to get to the cafeteria to fuel you up for the three quick trips to VIGILANTE, the storage unit, and then home."

Pixel: "How do you know that?"

Pixel Cat pointed to the symbol on the door. It was a white triangle, and the South entrance had the exact white triangle symbol.

Pixel: "Oh! Fair enough."

So Pixel Cat took the right side of the split, which was a way to the cafeteria. They came across another three Quadrant soldiers who, when they stumbled across him, they did something horrific.

They cheered for the Pixel Cat.

Soldier 1: "Congratulations on kidnapping the mayor with the interceptor you borrowed from Lady Vanessa. If she was there, she would be very proud of you in the first step of framing Pixel Cat because when a criminal is caught on camera, VIGILANTE don't usually use the truth memory recorder because there is enough evidence pointing to him."

Pixel Cat had to fake being proud of what they did.

Pixel Cat: "Oh yeah. As soon as the real Pixel Cat is off our chopping block, the better."

Soldier 1: "Well then, if you are heading for a well-deserved dinner, then you are in luck because we are going to start a temporary Pixel Cat operation that involves as many fake Pixel Cat agents committing crimes everywhere."

Solder 2: "Sadly we won't be here for dinner because we have the South entrance to cover due to the worker drones incompetence. But we'll be part of the Pixel Cat operation when the mayor of Saltdale says that Pixel Cat was no hero but, in fact, a cunning super villain."

Soldier 3: "Don't worry, you don't need to take off your mask. But you will need to sit where the other Pixel Cat agents are, Pixel Cat 7."

Pixel Cat: "Ok, and why am I named Pixel Cat 7?"

Pixel panicked when he said it but stayed in his brain, fearing what would happen next.

Soldier 2: "Yeah, it is a name that whenever we encounter a Pixel Cat agent, we simply name them by how many are already there."

Soldier 1 got a purple lanyard with a symbol of Pixel and wrote down 7 on the lanyard before putting the lanyard around the real Pixel Cat.

Soldier 3: "Just go straight at the first four-way junction of tunnels, and when you get to the T-junction, turn right, and you'll reach the cafeteria."

Pixel Cat then shocked hands with the three soldiers, still keeping up his true motivation to stop this operation.

Pixel Cat: "Thank you. I shall be on my way now."

Soldiers 1, 2, and 3: "Good luck!"

Soldier 2: "You're going to need it."

And so they parted ways. Pixel Cat headed to the cafeteria and the three Quadrant soldiers to the south entrance.

As Pixel Cat went past the four way Junction of tunnels, a group of four Quadrant agents cheered for "Pixel Cat 7" joining the operation to frame the real Pixel Cat.

Pixel Cat was getting very scared of what they were plotting against him, whilst Pixel was getting very close to crying in tears of how Quadrant would be twisting their reputation for being a super hero, saving people's lives without help or getting paid by VIGILANTE as motivation.

Pixel Cat waved at the agents like he was on their side, but on the inside, he knew that the fate of continuing his super hero career rested on two or more fake Pixel Cat agent getting arrested and then VIGILANTE discovering that there was an operation plotting against the real Pixel Cat and then would use the truth memory recorder to find which Pixel Cat is fake.

He knows this thanks to Captain Olivia giving Pixel Cat an incite about the truth memory recorder six days ago during an investigation into finding the leader of the Canadian cartel drug dealing leader.

Captain Olivia: "The truth memory recorder takes access the eyes and memory parts with our first model which then we can access to critical memories thanks to which part of the memory has been recently been standing out.

But the first model could find memories that were long forgotten due to techniques with staying calm and blanking their mind, so we had the second model fitted with equipment that VIGILANTE AI can access, helping us get to those critical memories, making those blanking techniques useless.

The second model worked for another ten years before we discovered that in one raid that led to the arrest of the chief scientist for Quadrant in universe Hoyo 3 that he was the brains behind the artificial memory inhibitors that Quadrant used, so we had to make artificial memory inhibitor detection on our third model.

Unfortunately, this created a problem with energy efficiency with our third model, but our science team is working on the fourth model that has the same functionality as the third model, but with the same energy efficiency as our first two models or with  recyclable energy generators that is safe to use.

But until we find a prototype that we can use to solve every crime without using up the energy budget, we are just going to have to use them for difficult investigations."

Pixel Cat took a right when he got to the T-junction and was greeted by a squadron of Quadoids.
