Chapter two will be written in first person POV, but here's chapter one. Hope you enjoy ☺️☺️

Driving in to Princeton high School premises, you could see the name of the school written on hugh pillar close to the big black gates where the security men  majorly stayed looking at the cars going in and out while a few of them moved towards  those cars driving in.

Princeton high was  the biggest and best school  in Lagos  attended by the rich and the one percent in the country. It was attended by the children of governors, business tycoon, ministers, you name it.

It was a school that has made history for Nigeria, as most of it's students make it to Ivy league university every year. Another reason why it was the most sought after school especially for parents who likes to brag.

The school fees was paid in millions so any middle class students attending was probably by scholarships.

Adedeji Odum, a parent parked his car at the parking space especially made for parents dropping up their kids.

He turned off his ignition then turned to his 17 year old daughter, Tolani who looked like she was lost in space as she only stared at one direction.

"Tolani" he calls, but she still remained in the same position.

"Tolani." He calls again, but it was still the same.

"Tolani!" He half yells and she jots up like she wasn't aware of where she was.

Slowly, he reached for her hand." Tolani, are you okay?" He asks not sure of what reaction she was going to make.

Much to his surprise, there was no expression, she only removed her hand from under his." I'm fine." She answers.

Deji stared at her intently." Tolani you know you don't have to go to school today, right?" He asks, his eyes still on her." If you want, we can go back home this inst—"

"Dad, calm down." Tolani says not looking at him." It's just school resumption not the end of the word." She adds now looking at him.

Deji laughs a little to ease the uneasy  tension building up, with his hands up in mock surrender." Okay, okay I've heard you." He grabs her hands closer to him this time." You know how much daddy cares for you ,right?"

Tolani stares at him for a while before nodding.

Adedeji smiled, he was so worried about his daughter especially since today happened to be the day she lost her mum.

There was a reason for deji's worried look, Tolani had lost her mum at the age of five  due to a burglary incident at her mum's place on the same day the divorce between them was finalized.

According to the detective on the scene, it was a planned robbery and murder given as the killing of his ex wife was well organized. Like it was done by someone who knew about her whereabouts.

That da was the day Deji felt the feeling of fear, especially when Tolani was no where to be found. They had thought she was kidnapped or killed somewhere else but to their biggest surprise, she was found in the room where the crime scene occurred.

Inside a closet, that was where she was found. Meaning she witnessed everything that happened. When she was asked why she hid there, she just said this few words 'Mummy out me in here, she told me not to get out no matter what i saw'

Ever since then, she has never been a normal child and that was the part that feared Deji. He didn't want anything happening to his daughter.

She became claustrophobic and feared being in small places and at times, she would just stared in space, not staring at anything in particular but completely drowning her self from the surrounding around her. And the part that broke his heart even more was the fact that she became mute and only talks when needed and  unlike other teenagers, she never brought friends home.
