Chapter 9

Valen pov:

I stood there in disbelief. The world around me was spinning, I could see Rondni talking to me and the girl that was there trying to pull him from me. I couldn't hear anything. Shock has taken over my body. I fell to the ground on my hands and knees while tears fell from my eyes, hitting the warm dirt. My body was shaking vigorously, but once Rondni touched my arm, all of me calmed down and was brought back to reality.

"Valen..." Ron said. His voice, his face, his touch, all of him was here right in front of me.

"Is this really you? I have got to be imagining things!" I squalled.

"You aren't, I promise you. This is me, your Rondni. I am here right now." He placed my hand on his chest, but I felt no heartbeat and a cold body. I yanked my hand back. The look of shock was on Rondni's face when I pulled my hand away.

"Your... your cold... and you have no heartbeat! You have to be my imagination. I thought I was over these hallucinations of you! AAAHHHHHHH....I can't do this again. He needs me, his mother!" I screamed out.

The girl spoke to Rondni, "We need to go NOW! She doesn't believe it's you, and you will now face consequences for what you just did, but right now, we have to leave!"

Rondni yelled, "I can't leave her like this! Not again!"

"You have to or..." Said the girl.

"MEGAN! I AM NOT!"

I finally composed myself for a short moment as I heard soldiers looking for me. "Ron, if this is really you and if being here is dangerous for the both of you, then you need to go. Whatever the reason is, I'm sure I'll figure it out and understand later. I'm not sure if I'm imagining things right now or not, but I can't lose you a second time, so leave and stay alive this time, please!"

"Valen... I..."

"She said for us to leave, so let's go now or all our work is gone!" said Megan, pushing him towards the exit.

"I'll see you again, Valen. I promise!" Said Ron as him and Megan ran away.

The soldiers looking for me got closer to me in the bush maze. I walked closer to them until we bumped into each other.

"Miss Valen, are you ok? Laziren is looking for you, and he got worried when he didn't see you in the ballroom." I highly dobut that he was worried, probably wondering why I wasn't staying put to be honest. If he is hiding something, I must find out. Not for my sake but for Rondni's and Rhys.

"Sorry, I just wanted fresh air. Take me to him, please." They escorted me back to Liazern.

The night felt like it went on forever. He mainly talked to everyone while I was clinging to his side. Is this what he wants from me? Am I a pawn in his game, and what is the game he is playing?

2 weeks pass...

Every time I try to listen in or figure out what Liazern is planning, I hit a brick wall. Whatever it is, he has it highly secretive and protective of it. I'm assuming Alpha Conner is a partner in whatever plan he has. I haven't had the chance to talk to Damien because Liazern has been following in behind him, like he is trying to get him on his good side. I'm afraid of what he is trying to sneak up and do to him or me.

"Mommmmyyyyyyy!!!! Mommmmyyyyyyyy!!!" Yelled Rhys while walking in the door.

"Who is calling me? I wonder what that beautiful, most amazing, sweet voice is calling me?" I yelled, walking towards the front door of the pack house.

"It's me, mommy, your big and strong little boy, Rhys!" He said, flexing his arms.

"Oooo... I do have a strong little boy! Look at those muscles! How was your day?"
