The Kingdom of Pyrenstone, an area of land as wide as it was varied, once lay open on the wide-open area of Nevera Jarseth with promise and power. It was a kingdom named after the area of Pyrenstone in Nevera Jarseth and rose to prominence, its banner once fluttering proudly over much of the region.
Yet, as time passed, so did the priorities of the Kingdom, and with them, its ambitions grew beyond the once-so-important Pyrenstone-Plainsborough-as the very name spoke, a borough city from the north, which had been cast aside in favor of more promising developments.
Having lain far from the two major trade routes, not to mention strategic resources, there was little that could be done to turn Pyrenstone-Plainsborough into a thriving center. It grew at a reduced rate, and although it held some sense of historical importance, it was soon overshadowed by the rise of Pyrenstone-Nassir Wayfarer from the east, a newly developed exclave city around the large lake of Lacarinus called Pyrenstone-Lacarinus from the west, and ever glory of the Kingdom of Pyrenstone itself.
These thriving cities within the strategic trade connections of the kingdom suddenly drew the attention of merchants, adventurers, and scholars alike, all in a hurry to bask in the opportunities offered by the kingdom.
Meanwhile, Pyrenstone-Plainsborough kept holding onto the tradition of a long-lost era. It would not quite decay, but neither did its development go forward, its streets quieter, its halls echoing with the past that few now cared to remember.
The adventurers passed it for the more lucrative contracts found in other cities of the Kingdom of Pyrenstone, while merchants opted for busier markets. Only the Pyrenestone-Plainsborough Adventurer Guild-a once-resplendent bastion of talent-now struggled to survive as an outlier, staffed by a few loyal members under Guild Master Lysa Caudus.
And yet, even in the shadow of the Kingdom's new priorities, Pyrenstone-Plainsborough still harbored secrets. Nevera Jarseth, for many considered the "Land of Alpha", where kingdoms, empires, and villages alike were only just starting to carve out their histories.
For here, where the Nevera Jarseth stretched onto the horizon in every direction- untamed wilderness with forests, jagged hills, and feral wildlands settlers fought to survive, and those with power shaped the very fabric of the region's future. Harsh was the land, yet it was also the birthplace of so many legends. And for the Pyrenstone-Plainsborough Adventurer Guild, there was always another mystery to be solved, another threat to be faced in a land that was still writing its own history.
