The blindfold was suffocating. Every breath I took felt like it dragged me deeper into the abyss of Darius’s control. The silence around me was oppressive, pressing in on all sides as I sat perfectly still, my senses heightened to every sound, every shift in the air.
I had lost track of time. Minutes, hours—there was no difference anymore. All I knew was that I was alone in the darkness, bound by the weight of my own fear and the anticipation of what might come next. Every second felt like a test, a cruel game he was playing with my mind.
I couldn’t see him, but I could feel him. His presence was everywhere, wrapping around me like an invisible chain, pulling tighter with every passing moment. My muscles ached from the tension, but I didn’t dare move. I didn’t dare break the fragile stillness he had imposed on me.
The memory of the last punishment was still fresh in my mind. The way he had twisted my body, his words cutting deeper than any physical blow. He had taken everything from me—my freedom, my will—and yet, I was still here. Still obedient. Still craving his approval.
I hated myself for it.
The sound of footsteps echoed in the distance, growing louder as they approached. My heart raced, pounding against my chest as I tried to steady my breathing. He was coming. And I had no idea what he would do next.
The chair creaked as he circled me, his presence overwhelming in the silence. I tensed, every muscle in my body bracing for the inevitable.
“Still sitting there, like a good little pet,” his voice was a low growl, dripping with dominance. “You’ve lasted longer than I expected.”
I swallowed hard, my throat dry. I wanted to speak, to beg for release, but I knew better. Speaking without permission would only bring more punishment, and I couldn’t handle that right now. My body was already on the edge, trembling with the effort to stay still.
Darius’s hand suddenly cupped my chin, tilting my head up. His touch was deceptively gentle, but there was nothing comforting about it. His grip was a reminder of the power he held over me, a power that he wielded without mercy.
“You’re learning,” he murmured, his thumb brushing across my lips. “But I can still sense the rebellion in you.”
His words sent a shiver down my spine. The rebellion he spoke of was there, buried deep inside me, but it was fading. Every day, every punishment, every moment under his control was wearing away at the defiance that had once defined me.
“I warned you, Aurelia,” he said, his voice a soft whisper against my ear. “If you break the rules again, the consequences will be far more severe.”
I nodded, a small gesture that felt monumental in the silence. I had to obey. There was no other choice.
But even as I nodded, the fear in my chest was laced with something darker. His presence, his dominance—it terrified me, but it also stirred something I couldn’t explain. Something I didn’t want to admit to myself. The fear, the submission, the way he controlled every part of me—it was becoming more than just something I endured. It was something I… craved.
