Bits and pieces

A scary thought

There's this feeling
I can't shake, though
I've tried for some time.
Know you made the right
call, and that the timing
wasn't right.

I've come to terms with
it, which is why I feel
silly admitting this,
but I think we had
something genuine,
something that could've
been worth our while.

And I know I've never
been one to believe in
fate, but this made me
want to - a scary thought
given that I hadn't even
met you.

What could've been left
an impression, and also
left me wondering
what if this was it?
