Slow and steady
like a ship sailing
home, after scouring
troubled waters,
I found my true
North.
There might not be
such a thing as perfect,
but I imagine this
is what it feels like.
Blushing cheeks
and butterflies,
whispers of kisses
shared underneath
the star filled sky.
Stories of the past,
hopes and dreams
for the future laid
out.
The smell of your
cologne still lingers
on my shirt, a cocoon
of comfort until your
return.
