The Child and His Father
Do not get along
The father always quick to anger
At a moments notice
He snaps at the child
Over the littlest of things
One time, the child
Coming home from a walk in the forest
Was bruised and battered
The father not showing care for him
Asks "Why do you look so?"
Not in a manner of care
But in a manner of anger
"Why is this kid always ruining his clothes!?"
The father thinks to himself
The child tries to explain
"It was the bully!
He did this to me!"
'THERE IS NO BULLY, CHILD"
The father rebuttals
He doesn't believe these stories
That the child tells him
These stories of a bully
A bully who hates the child so much
As to follow him in the woods
No matter how much the child tries to prove it
The father's response is always
"Excuses, Excuses!" In an irate tone
"Are YOU gonna pay for new clothes?!"
He says to the battered child
The child gives up
He starts to cry
His father never believes him
He knows not why
He goes to his room
His father watches in anger
He takes his clothes off
Seldom his undergarments
And falls into bed
Making his pillow soggy
Making his eyes red
