Jungkook handed Taehyung a warm mug of hot chocolate, the rich aroma wafting through the air. He watched Taehyung intently, hoping to see a flicker of happiness in his eyes, but instead, Taehyung stared at the drink with hesitation, his brows furrowing slightly.

"Hey," Jungkook said gently, tilting his head. "It's just hot chocolate. I promise it's safe."

Taehyung's mind raced back to the last time he had been given a drink by someone he trusted—his father's tainted tea that had led to a night of horror. The memory clung to him like a dark shadow, making his heart race and a cold shiver run down his spine.

"Taehyung?" Jungkook's voice broke through his thoughts, and he could see the concern etched on his friend's face. "You okay?"

With a shaky breath, Taehyung nodded, though the unease still lingered in his chest. "I'm just... I don't know if I can drink it."

Jungkook placed the mug on the table, his expression softening. "I understand. I really do. But I made this for you because I care about you. It's just hot chocolate—no hidden intentions, I swear." He leaned closer, his eyes warm and reassuring. "You can trust me, Taehyung."

Those words struck a chord within Taehyung. He wanted to trust Jungkook; he truly did. But the scars from his recent experiences made it hard to let his guard down. He took a deep breath and cautiously picked up the mug, feeling its warmth seep into his palms. The rich, sweet smell wafted up, filling his senses.

"Okay," Taehyung finally said, bringing the mug closer to his lips but still hesitating.

"Just a sip," Jungkook encouraged softly. "You'll see. It's really good."

With Jungkook's gentle coaxing, Taehyung took a small sip. The hot chocolate was smooth and rich, melting on his tongue. It was comforting in a way he hadn't expected, and for a moment, he felt a flicker of warmth spreading through him, easing some of the tightness in his chest.

"See? Not so bad, right?" Jungkook grinned, the corners of his eyes crinkling with delight.

Taehyung managed a small smile, the taste still lingering on his tongue. "Yeah, it's actually really good."

"Good!" Jungkook beamed, visibly relieved. He settled down next to Taehyung, their shoulders brushing against each other as they sipped their drinks.

They sat in comfortable silence for a moment, the tension in Taehyung's body gradually easing. The warmth of the hot chocolate and Jungkook's presence wrapped around him like a protective blanket.

"Thank you, Jungkook," Taehyung said quietly, his voice barely above a whisper.

Jungkook turned to him, his expression serious yet gentle. "You don't have to thank me. I just want you to be okay. Whatever you need, I'm here for you."

Taehyung looked into Jungkook's eyes, seeing the sincerity and determination reflected back at him. It was a stark contrast to the betrayal he had felt from his father. In that moment, he decided to let the warmth of Jungkook's friendship seep into his heart, allowing himself to feel safe for the first time in a long while.

As they continued to sip their drinks, Taehyung felt a glimmer of hope stir within him. Perhaps, with Jungkook by his side, he could find a way to heal and reclaim the pieces of himself that had been shattered.

Jungkook sat across from Taehyung, his heart racing as he tried to articulate the whirlwind of emotions he had kept bottled up for so long. "Taehyung, I care about you so much. You're not just a friend to me; you mean everything," he began, his voice earnest. "I want to be there for you, to support you through everything."
