Shadows pov:
I walk up to the door and take a deep breath. I hate that I agreed to this. It's stupid really, why dose Sonic need me to babysit sit him? I gently knock on the door, secretly hoping that no one answers.
"Your finally here!" Tails shouts as the door swings open
"I didn't think that you'd actually come.""I'm only here because you said you'd pay me." I cross my arms
"R-right." He moves aside to let me in
"So, sonic doesn't actually know that your here.""Why?"
"Because he's locked himself in his room. He refuses to let anyone in there, it's been a week since I last saw him." He frowns
"And you think I'd be able to get him to open his door?" I tilt my head
"That's the stupidest thing-""It's worth a shot!"
"Whatever." I roll my eyes as I follow Tails to Sonics room
"Wait, if you haven't seen him in a week how do you know that he's actually stayed in his room? He could easily leave through his window.""His window is locked and only I have the key." Tails shrugs before knocking on Sonics door
"Go away!" Sonics voice is muffled
"Open the door, faker."
"..."
A few seconds goes by before I hear the door unlock. I look over at tails and he gives me a quick smile.
"I have to go and work on some stuff. You know how to contact me and just make sure Sonic doesn't do anything stupid." He then turns around and walks away
"Great." I groan before opening the door
Once the door fully opens I'm met with a messy room. There's empty cans taking up space on his desk and fast food bags scattered across the floor. I look over at the bed. Hes laying down with his blanket covering him, almost hiding himself.
"What do you want, Shadow?" His voice is muffled by the blanket
"Tails wanted me to watch you as he works on something." I shrug as I find a chair in his room and take a seat
"Oh.." he finally sits up
"When's the last time you took a shower?" I ask
"What?"
"You smell bad." I cross my arms
"I do not!" He lifts his arm up to see if he actually smells
"Tails told me that you haven't left your room in a week. That means that you haven't showered."
"So? I can't leave anyways so what's the point?" He groans
"Just shower. I'm not going to be stuck in here with you smelling up the room."
"Fine, you'll have to help me walk through."
"Fine."
I stand up and walk over to his bed. Sonic slowly tosses his blanket off of him before rolling over and facing me. I help him up before walking him out of his room.
"You have to tell me where the bathroom is."
"It's that door." He points
I walk him to the bathroom before setting him on the toilet. I turn on the shower and wait for it to get warm.
"Okay hop in. I'll wait for you in your room." I say before walking out of the bathroom and shutting the door behind me
Once I walk into Sonics room I'm filled with disgust. His room is a complete mess. I go back to my seat at his desk, trying to ignore the mess..but I can't. I groan before standing up and cleaning up the dumpster that he calls a room.
Once I'm done with cleaning his room I decided to make his bed as well. As soon as I'm done I hear the shower stop and Sonic call my name. I walk to the bathroom and is met with sonic shaking himself dry. I roll my eyes before letting him rest his arm over my shoulder.
"Wow, you cleaned my room." He smiles as he flops on his bed
"Yeah, I don't know how you sat in that mess for a week." I sit down at the desk
"It didn't really bother me."
"How?" I furrow my brows
"I don't know." He shrugs
"You really let yourself go." I mumble to myself
"What?" He tilts his head
"I said that you've let yourself go. Your room is a mess, you haven't bathed in at least a week and you clearly stopped working out." I look him up and down
"H-how do you expect me to work out when I have a broken leg? Tails won't let me out of my room so I can't go out and train." He crosses his arms
"You can still do some workouts in bed that don't involve your legs. Also your eating habits aren't helping. All that I cleaned up was fast food. Eating a vegetable wouldn't hurt you know?"
"If you're here just to bitch about how my life has gone to shit then you can just leave." He huffs
"I wish I could leave." I roll my eyes
"Why can't you?" He raises a brow
"I wouldn't be a very good babysitter if I left, would I?...also Tails won't pay me."
"Tails is paying you to be here?" He shouts
"You really think that I'd waste my time being here for fun?"
Sonic just looks at me with a sad expression. I can't help but feel a little bad about what I said. It's true though, I wouldn't want to be here but I'm getting rings out of it.
It's been a few hours and we've been sitting in complete silence. I'm fine with how quiet it is but I can tell it's getting to sonic. He starts playing with his gloves as he looks around the room. It's funny how the "worlds hero" can't even sit comfortably in a quiet room.
"Guys I'm home!" Tails shouts from the front door
I quickly stand up.
"It's time for me to go." I smile
"Don't make your room any more of a mess." I roll my eyes before leaving his room"So, how was Sonic?" Tails asks as he puts a bag of tools and random parts on the counter
"He's fine. His room is a mess and he looks horrible but other than that, he's fine." I cross my arms
"I was wondering..would you be willing to watch him tomorrow as well?" He scratches the back of his neck
"I asked around but everyone is busy and-""Whoy do you think that I'm not busy?"
"Please Shadow! I really need to get this project done." He begs
"Fine."
"Thank you shadow! Be here early in the morning." He smiles
I roll my eyes before leaving. I can't believe that I agreed to come back tomorrow.
