Sonic stepped out of his sleek, black Mercedes-Benz, tossing the keys to the valet without so much as a glance. His mind was already on the day ahead, his usual smirk replaced by a tight-lipped expression of focus. The towering skyscraper of Hedgehog Holdings loomed before him, the pride of his family's legacy. It was more than just a business—it was a symbol of everything his father had built and that Sonic was now practically running.

His father, still technically CEO, had begun working from home due to age, but it was Sonic who had taken the reins. In truth, he was already the de facto CEO. Everything came through him now, from the day-to-day decisions to the high-stakes investments that kept them at the top. His father pushed him hard growing up, always emphasizing that hard work paid off in the long run. As much as he disliked some of those lessons, Sonic couldn't argue with the results—Hedgehog Holdings was the leading investment company in the world.

He strolled through the lobby, barely acknowledging the overly enthusiastic greeting from the receptionist. She flashed him a bright smile, her cheeks tinged with a bit too much excitement, but Sonic just gave a curt nod and moved toward the elevator. His focus was sharp, his mind preoccupied with the latest merger deal he had to finalize later that afternoon.

Stepping into the private elevator, he pressed the button for the top floor. As the doors closed, the tension from his strained morning with Amy still clung to him. Why did she have to be so... aggravating? he thought with a slight frown.

The elevator opened to reveal the expansive space that was his office—a whole floor dedicated to him. It was modern and sleek, with floor-to-ceiling windows showcasing the city skyline. There was a set of plush black couches, a personal conference room, a fully stocked mini-fridge, and a state-of-the-art coffee machine in the corner. In the center, his large black desk held the weight of countless responsibilities, with a high-backed chair that looked every bit the throne of the de facto CEO he was.

Sonic took a deep breath, settling into the chair as he pressed the intercom button. "Tails, Knuckles, get in here," he said.

A few minutes later, Tails and Knuckles walked in, both grinning as they took their usual seats on the couch.

Knuckles smirked, leaning back. "So, how's the wife?" he asked, his tone dripping with teasing.

Sonic groaned, rubbing his temples. "Don't get me started."

Tails raised an eyebrow, curiosity piqued. "That bad?"

"She's just so... irritating," Sonic muttered, sitting forward in his chair, hands clasped in front of him. "I mean, she's always had this attitude, even when we were kids. But now? It's even worse. I don't know how I'm supposed to deal with this."

Knuckles chuckled. "What'd she do? Steal the blankets?"

"No," Sonic said flatly, his jaw tightening. "It's not about the little things. It's everything. Her attitude, the way she looks at me like she can't stand being in the same room, and don't get me started on this morning. I barely said two words before she's all over me, accusing me of being... I don't even know what! Perv, gross—she's insufferable."

Tails exchanged a glance with Knuckles, who raised his eyebrows. "Sounds like you two have some unresolved tension."

Sonic shot him a glare, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "Yeah, because that's exactly what I needed to hear today."

Meanwhile, back at the house, Amy was lounging at the kitchen island, venting to Rouge as she nibbled on a red velvet cupcake.

"No way he said that," Rouge said, wide-eyed as she listened intently.

"Yeah!" Amy huffed, tossing her hair over her shoulder. "Can you believe it? He's such a jerk, Rouge. I mean, I get it—neither of us wanted this, but we're stuck with each other now. Does he have to make it even worse?"

Rouge smirked knowingly, resting her chin in her hand. "I still can't believe you're actually living with him. The cocky bastard."

Amy scoffed, taking a bigger bite out of her cupcake. "I can't believe it either. It's like some kind of twisted nightmare, and I'm stuck in it. Maybe..." she swallowed her bite, a mischievous glint in her eye. "Maybe I should run away. That'd show my parents. Just disappear and let Sonic deal with the fallout."

Rouge waved her hand dismissively. "Okay, calm down. Running away might be a little dramatic, don't you think?"

"Easy for you to say," Amy shot back, rolling her eyes. "You and Knuckles actually chose to be together."

"Touché," Rouge admitted, leaning back in her seat. "But listen, you've got to play it smart. Stay out of his way, and he'll stay out of yours. Simple as that."

"Oh, I plan to," Amy said confidently. "The last thing I want is to deal with him more than I have to."

Rouge eyed her carefully, a knowing smirk playing at the corner of her lips. "And yet, you seem to talk about him a lot..."

Amy froze for a second, blinking before scoffing. "I talk about him because he's an annoyance. Nothing more."

"Uh-huh," Rouge teased. "Sure, hon. Just try not to kill each other, okay?"

Amy rolled her eyes, pushing a cupcake toward Rouge. "Enough about him. Want a cupcake?"

"Don't mind if I do," Rouge said with a grin, taking a bite and sighing with contentment. "Damn, Ames, you really should open that bakery one day."

Amy smiled softly. "One day. For now, I just need to survive this marriage."

Back at the office, Sonic was deep in thought as Knuckles continued to tease him.

"Look, man, maybe you just need to find some common ground," Knuckles suggested with a smirk. "You guys have known each other forever. There's gotta be something you can agree on."

Sonic leaned back in his chair, staring up at the ceiling. "Yeah, common ground. Like what? The fact that we both didn't want this?"

Tails, always the optimist, chimed in. "Maybe that's a start. You're both in the same boat here. If you can just figure out how to coexist, it might not be so bad."

Sonic sighed, running a hand through his quills. "Maybe. But right now, she's making it really hard to find any common ground."

As the conversation shifted to the upcoming business deals, Sonic couldn't shake the lingering thoughts of his new wife. Despite his frustrations, a part of him was curious about how this was all going to play out. One thing's for sure, he thought. It's never going to be boring
