NOVEMBER 1983:
JULIE WOKE UP spluttering and choking on whatever was in her mouth. She noticed Eleven beside her, she shook her awake. She woke up breathing heavily and choking.
She looked around to see the classroom they were in before. Only it was covered in black rope looking stuff and it was dusted with particles, and the biggest detail, they're wasn't a soul around.
She helped Eleven stand up. "You okay?" She asked, the girl nodded. Julie took in her surroundings as she got more and more cautious by the second, this was the Upside Down?
They exited the classroom and walked down the halls, it was so empty and eerie, she held onto Eleven's arm to keep her steady.
"Mike?" Julie said weakly, the last look he gave her was enough to make her heart break, the tears, the voice breaks and the despair in his brown eyes.
They continued to walk down the halls, occasionally shouting names; like, her Dad, Mike, Lucas, Dustin. anyone they trusted deeply.
At the end of the hall seemed to be a red glowing hole. It was small, not enough for them both to fit through.
Julie looked through the gooey hole to see soldiers looking into. Immediately she pulled Eleven back and they glued their backs to the wall, breathing heavily.
She looked through again after the muffled voices died down, they were gone.
"It's clear, El." She whispered. "But there's no way we can fit through this."
"Powers." Eleven whispered, Julie's face brightened.
"Yeah, yeah. Try that." She moved aside and let Eleven stand where she stood.
She stepped back, the red glow lighting her and features up. Julie nodded as a sign to go.
She stuck her hand up and widened the hole. As she stopped Julie darted over and caught Eleven before she could pass out, steadying her on her feet. "You're okay." She reassured.
Eleven pressed her lips together. "I'm okay." She nodded, Julie let go of her.
"Me or you first?" She asked, nodding at the red glowing hole in-front of them.
Eleven glanced between her and the hole before shrugging, the girl threw her head back.
"Fine, fine...I'll go..." She took a deep breath and stuck a leg through the hole. Her leg immediately getting covered in goo. "Ew! Ew!" She shrieked. "This is so gross, ugh!"
After a few seconds her whole body was through. She was covered in goo, head to toe. She almost threw up at the feeling.
"Okay, Eleven, come on!" She yelled, a few seconds after a hand appeared and Julie grabbed it and helped her bald friend through. "We're all gooey now." She cringed.
