Dogobogo Jungle, Amazonas, Brazil- - -
After the long, endless ride to the jungle, the helicopter doors would finally swing open, abruptly waking up Ellie and I.
Ellie looked at me, smirking. "Got a bit tired yourself, eh?" She chuckles, still smiling as she brushes off her shoulder and steps towards the open door.
"Alright, we're there." Charles came back on the radio. "I don't think I can get any closer without... getting shot down."
Ellie was quick to respond. "No worries! We can get there from here."
"Alright then. Hey come to think of it, I think there's two jetpacks behind the chairs you guys were sat on. Go ahead and use those to land by that missile turret down there." Charles says with confidence.
I walked towards the chairs, looking behind them to see some hidden in plain sight jetpacks. Taking them, I handed one to Ellie and we both jumped off, rapidly boosting down, straight through the turret, destroying it.
"That was... weirdly... smooth." Ellie said to me, glancing at the smoking turret. "So, what's the plan?"
Before I could answer, a booming voice could be heard from loud speakers around the launch site.
"The rocket will be launching very soon. Please get onboard immediately. I will not hesitate to leave you behind." it said in a menacing manner.
"Uh oh. Sounds like they're about to take off. You guys should get over there right away." Charles exclaimed to us both urgently. "I'll be down to help as soon as I can."
"It looks like such a long way to the entrance..." Ellie said, worried.
"Don't worry. I always have a plan in these situations." I said with a seemingly threatening aura.
I grabbed a barrel out of thin air that we could both launch ourselves out of. Without hesitation, I hopped in, with Ellie quickly following, which further strengthened my belief that she trusted me.
We launched out of the contraption only to hit more and more barrels as we pummelled our way into the sky, getting closer to Charles' helicopter.
"Alright I'm here. Combo time!" he said as he caught us inside of another cannon.
"Funny story, heh. This cannon was actually built to fire humans. It's kinda weird. Hold onto your butts!"
Charles fired the cannon straight through a window in the ship. Ellie and I were slumped over on the floor after taking the abrupt hit.
"Direct hit! Now quick, guys. You gotta stop that rocket from taking off."
We both stood back up, turning around to observe the scene behind us. Unfortunately, it wasn't a very good one.
"Umm... Got a little bit of a situation..." Ellie said to Charles through the radio as we carefully watched the hundreds of Toppats that now surrounded us.
I whisper into Ellie's ear: "Follow my lead."
I punch a hand into the air, slowly building up tension as I try to distract the Toppats with a special dance. Ellie did as instructed, playing along with the act. The Toppats surprisingly bought it, dancing along with us as we both strutted our way through the weakened and boogieing Toppats.
"Situation sorted..." Ellie said to me smugly, the Toppats still dancing behind us.
However, at that exact moment, the rocket engines would fire up. We would both grab onto the walls as it abruptly took off.
"Uh guys? The rocket's launching. We gotta do something before they get into orbit!" Charles bellowed down the radio in worry.
"We have to come up with a plan, quick!" Ellie frantically ordered.
"Do I need to repeat myself?" I smirked, referring to what I said earlier on. Ellie smiled too, realising what I was saying.
"Seems like Henry's got a plan." she said to Charles.
"So-" I began to unfurl my lengthy plan to Charles.
"Uh huh? Yeah? Yeah. Oh yeah. Ah! Yeah! That's a great idea! Alright, you guys do your thing. I'll be ready." he replied, filling me with confidence as Ellie and I darted towards the control room.
The door opened, and the driver quickly turned around.
"What? Who's that?"
Before he had time to react, Ellie and I had already got him out of his seat and on the floor as I hijacked the rocket. I rerouted the coordinates from space to... a familiar place to us.
"Did you set the autopilot?" Ellie asked.
I stuck my thumb up.
"Alright, then. Let's bail." she answered. We both jumped out of the rocket as it flew away, just as we landed back in Charles' chopper.
"Ahhh! Whatta move! Can't believe we did it. Where'd you end up sending the rocket anyway?" he asked me.
"...The Wall." I replied, smugly.
"That was a lotta fun." Ellie said to the both of us, a bright smile on her face. "You know... Feel free to call us if you've got any more jobs to do together. Right, Henry?"
I looked at Ellie and smiled. "Yep. This is the start of something great."
