Henry's POV
- - -

Many months had gone by since Ellie and I began dating. It was truly a shock to me. We spent Christmas and New Years together, furthering our bond with each other even more. But something felt different in our newfound relationship. Like as if a piece of me was still missing. The thrill that fighting the Toppats or breaking out of a maximum security prison gave me felt missing, like a void inside me. But luckily I wasn't alone.

One night we would be having yet another basic, quiet dinner. Ellie brought up that very thing that had already been gnawing at the back of my mind for days or even weeks on end. She looked down, pushing her fork around her plate, and finally said, "Do you ever miss it? The thrill, I mean?"

"...I do. But we can't go back. My life is finally starting to change. For the better, for once." I replied, understanding what she meant but not wanting to really follow through.

Ellie reached her hand across the table, holding mine with a firm grasp. "You're right... But maybe... maybe we don't have to leave it behind?"

What she said to me then would linger in the back of my mind for the rest of the night. By the time we both climbed into bed several hours later to conclude yet another mundane day, I would bring it up to Ellie once again.

"Say, uh... about what you said earlier... I could call up Charles and ask if there's anything the government needs doing? You know." I asked her, seeming curious.

"Oh yeah, that would be nice. We haven't seen Charles in months either. Killing two birds with one stone eh?" she answered smugly.

"I'll call him in the morning. The government always has some sort of stuff going on so it'd be nice doing another bit of dirty work for them for that 'thrill'."

"Sounds good, Hen. Goodnight then." she smiled as she slowly fell asleep, exhausted.

"Night Ellie." I gave her a gentle kiss on the cheek as I too fell asleep.

The next morning, I would slowly wake up on a seemingly cold and hard surface. I opened my eyes to look around, and as it turned out, I had fallen out of bed in the night. Not only that, but I also dragged off the entire duvet with me.

"H-Henry..?" Ellie slowly woke up at the same time too, noticeably patting the bed where I would've been. She rose up to see that I was on the floor, with the duvet covering me. "W-What the heck are you doing..?" she asked tiredly, looking at me like I was crazy.

"Uh... I fell." I looked up at her, a fake smile on my face.

"Oh Henry... What am I ever gonna do with you." Ellie said whilst smirking, a hint of playful sarcasm in her voice. "Let's get cleaned up. We need to get our game faces on here if we're gonna go out on another mission together."

"Our first mission as a couple..." I smirked, holding her chin delicately and gently.

She giggled slightly, blushing. "Haha- Henry... I'm gonna go get changed now. You... probably should too. ...Once you clean that up."

I laughed to myself as Ellie left the room, whilst I started to clean up the room. Once I finished, I too would get dressed and quickly head downstairs to be greeted by Ellie standing in the corridor.

"Have you called Charles yet?" she asked me, a look of curiosity on her face.

"I'll call him now."

I slowly stepped into the next room, before dialling Charles' number on my phone. After ringing several times, he would pick up the phone.

"Hey Henry! How've you been?" Charles asked me from the other end of the phone. He seemed very happy that I called him.

"Good."

"It's been months since we last saw each other dude! How come you called?"

"Well... you remember how you said we could call up to see if any new missions needed doing? Yeah... well, we'd like to see if anything... you know. Needs doing." I raised, hoping he would say yes.

"Uh... well as a matter of fact, we do have something you guys can do. You see, the Toppat's remnants set up a new base of operations completely outside of the Americas after we stopped their little space station charade. We've managed to track them down to a secluded location in Central Asia, so we were hoping that maybe you guys could tag along and help apprehend the last of them?"

"One sec Charles." I put him on hold, walking over to Ellie. "Hey, Charles said that the government can fly us out to Central Asia to take out the rest of the Toppats we didn't get in Brazil."

"There's still Toppats left? I mean, sure. I wouldn't mind kicking some Toppat ass again."

"Great." I ran back over to the phone, coming back off hold. "Ellie's on board, so count us in Charles."

"Great! So where do you want me to pick you guys up?"
