Kaia smiles waking up. She looks at the time. It was noon. She had went to sleep at 4. She smiled again the frowned. Her depression is going away because of Jay.
'Morning.' She sent Jay.
'Not morning anymore.' He says.
'Can i come over?'
Kaia froze. Jay wanted to come over during the day. He hasnt really came during the day.
'Yeah. Let me shower.' She sends back.
Getting up she looked at her clothes. She ended up getting short shorts with a white wife beater. She walks over to the shower. Turning it on.she felt the water and smiled as it quickly warmed up. She undressed and got in the shower shaving then washing her hair and body. Rinsing off she smiled and turned the water off drying. She picked up her phone and looked at the messages from Jay.
'Enjoy your shower.
Hey you out.
Damn. You take long showers.
Im going to your house.
Im here.'
Kaia freaked out and put her phone on the counter and dried off quickly. Putting her clothes on, she put eyeliner on her eyes and walked out.
Jay sat at the table with Kaia's mom. Kaia walked over.
"Hey Jay." She says.
Jay smiles at her.
"I found him and he said he was waiting for you so i brought him in." Kaias mom says.
"We've been talking about you." Jay says looking Kaia over.
Kaia blushed softly.
"Well, is it okay if we chill in here after i smoke a cigarette?" Kaia says.
Her mother nods.
"Yup. Im going to work so behave." She says and gets up walking to the office in the back of their house.
"Thats cool. Your mom works at home." Jay says.
Kaia nods and walks over to the cigarette maker and rolls herself a cigarette.
"She is nice." Jay says standing and standing behind Kaia.
"She really is. I love her." Kaia says and rolls another cigarette, turning and handing it to Jay. "Here you go." She says.
"Thats not what i wanted but good looking." He says.
"What did you want then?" Kaia says smirking up at Jay.
Jay is 5'9 so he stands tall to Kaias short 4'8 height.
"This." Jay says leaning down and kissing Kaia's lips quickly.
Kaia stood there frozen for a moment lost in even the slightest kiss before blushing and scratching her collarbone.
"Oh. Okay." She says and walks outside.
"Do you have a light?" Kaia asks.
"Of course." Jay says lighting his cigarette and handing it to Kaia.
Kaia lights her cigarette and hands it back to Jay. She goes and sits on the wall. Her house has a cubby where the wall comes out it goes from 6ft to about 3ft to about 2 ft in height. Kaia sits on the 2ft wall looking at Jay. Jay walks over and faces Kaia.
"Why have you never worn shorts in front of me before?" Jay asks.
Kaia smiles small, "i have. I met you wearing basketball shorts."
"You know what i mean. Short shorts." Jay says smiling.
Kaia looks down at her legs and sighs at the scars sitting there.
"Because. I usually see you at night so im either in my pajamas or in basket ball shorts. I can only wear short shorts for so long." Kaia explains.
Jay looks at Kaias thighs. Thousands upon thousands of dark and light self harm scars sat there. Jay put his hand on Kaias thigh and traced the scars softly.
"Those too..." Kaia says softly.
"Why did you do this?" Jay asks.
"Just...i dont know. It helped." She says softly not looking at Jay.
Jay sat next to her on the wall.
"Helped what." Jay asks.
"Everything. Absolutely everything. My life was hell for a long time." Kaia says.
"So tell me." Jay says.
Kaia looks at Jay and sighs.
"I guess ill start at the beginning. When i was four my real dad left. I thought it was my fault up until about a year ago."
"But isnt that your dad in there." Jay says motioning to the house.
"Yeah. He is. He came back when i was fourteen." Kaia explains. "But in between that time mom remarried." Kaia looks down at her legs. "I was raped by my step dad." She says softly. "I was bullied for it. I still am. It got more violent in these past few years. Theyd start physically doing stuff."
"Physical stuff?" Jay asks tilting his head.
"Hitting me, shoving me in lockers, slamming my head on my desk." Kaia says.
"Why didn't you tell the school. They have to do something."
Kaia chuckles. "I did tell the school. Nothing happened. It was their word against mine. So i just got out of public school."
"So thats why you sleep til noon." Jay says in a teasing tone.
"Yea." Kaia says rolling her eyes.
Kaia answers every question Jay asked. Soon Jay has to leave. Before leaving Jay grabs Kaia's waist and pulls her close. He leans in and kisses Kaia softly almost as if he was scared to break her.
Kaia walks in to be greeted by her mom.
"So. ...is that your boyfriend." Her mom asks.
