"What a lovely gift someone left on my porch." Jadie picked up the gift. It was a doll in a colorful basket. Jadie took the doll and sat in the chair in the living room.

The crowd clapped and whistled. Kate smiled. Singing was her life.
Kate went looking for Richard. She couldn't find him anywhere. But then she spotted him. Kissing another girl. She marched over. "Richard! How could you do this to me? We have been dating for six months, and you just threw it away in one second. You're a lousy, no good, piece of crap! I bet she isn't even the first you've cheated on me with." "Kate please calm down. I'm sorry. It won't happen again." Richard said. "Go fill someone else up with your bull crap! Cancel all my gigs here because I'm never coming back."

Ava sat on the outdoor swing. She felt the wind brushing across her face. Ava has been to her grandma's grave every night. This was the first night she decided not to. She knew she could not keep going there every single night.
"All my parents and guardians, there gone." Ava thought to herself.

Jadie turned off the lights and eventually fell asleep.

She was awakened by something. Jadie walked into the living room. On the living room floor there was the doll. "How did fall out of the chair?" Jadie was so tired she just put the doll back in the chair and went to bed.

Jadie's alarm went off. Jadie got up, but stop when she noticed something. The doll was sitting on her dresser. "But how? I left her in the living room." Jadie decided to lock the doll in the closet. Jadie left for work.

"Welcome to candles café, what can I help you with today. Oh hey Richard." Ava said from behind the cash register. "I'm not here for food Ava. I want you to ask Kate to forgive me," "What did you do?" Ava asked. "Kate saw me kissing another girl." "You jerk! No I'm not asking Kate to forgive you. That is up to her, and obviously she doesn't want to because you're here asking me to talk her into forgiving you." "Please Ava." "I said no Richard!"

"It is your turn to close down the café Ava." "Okay Mrs. Scott." Ava said. Ava sweeped and mopped. She turned off the open sign. Ava gathered her things and left the café locking the door on her way out. "Awww man. The café closed. I wanted to get a chocolate chip cookie mommy." a little girl said to her mom. "How about I bring a cookie out for you." Ava said. She went inside and pulled out a cookie for the girl. "Here you go sweetie." Ava handed the cookie to the little girl. "Thank you, thank you." the little girl said with the biggest, cutest grin. "How much for a cookie?" The mom asked. "$2.25, but this one is free." Ava said with a smile.

Kate entered the garage paascode. Kate walked to Jadie's bedroom. Near the bottom of the door there was a hole. On the bed there were five dolls. Kate called Jadie. "Hey there is a hole in the closet door. There isn't a doll in the closet, but there are five on your bed." "What!? I'll be right over." Jadie said.

Jadie was freaking out. "How were there four more dolls now?" Jadie asked herself. She ran inside. "Thanks Kate, but you can leave now." "Are you okay Jadie?" Kate asked. "Yes I'm fine."
"Okay, bye then." Kate said as she left.

Jadie walked into her bedroom. There sat the dolls. There black button eyes creepy and mysterious. The doll's slight smile. "Was it possible that the dolls were moving by themselves?" Jadie wondered. Jadie went in the bathroom. She heard something coming from in the kitchen. She ran into the kitchen. The first doll Jadie got was sitting on the bench, but where were the other four? Jadie heard something above her. when she looked up there were the other dolls crawling on the ceiling. "AHHHHHHHHHHH!" Jadie screamed. The dolls dropped on top of her. They held Jadie down. They were surprisingly strong. Jadie then noticed what the first doll was holding. A knife.

Jadie struggled. She couldn't get loose. The doll with the knife came closer. Jadie moved just enough to punch the doll. The knife flew from her hands. Jadie reached out. Her hand brushing across the knife. Jadie grabbed the knife and stabbed two of the dolls holding her down. That made easy enough for Jadie to break free. She looked back at the dolls she stabbed. Like magic the dolls became sewed together. Their rips were repaired.

Jadie ran for the front door. The first doll grabbed her leg. Jadie quickly grabbed the doll. Jadie threw the doll into the fire place. The doll started burning. Suddenly the other dolls turned to piles of string and stuffing.
Jadie took a deep breath. Her face was damp with tears and sweat.
Jadie noticed one of the doll's hats. There was a message on the tag.
"This is just the beginning. Give me the jewelry box if you want to live."
