"I can't believe you walked here. Why didn't you just drive?" Ava asked Kate. "I only live one block away." Kate responded. They shared a small laugh.

"Were here because we're worried about Jadie. She has been acting stressed and weird. "Yesterday she asked me to see if there was doll in her closet. There was a hole in her closet, and she freaked out when I told her there were five dolls on her bed." Kate said. "Maybe we should talk to her about it. It might help." Ava said. "Meet at Jadie's tomorrow at noon?" Kate asked. "Sounds good to me." Ava said.

Kate walked towards her house. The streets were surprisingly empty. There weren't even any cars driving on the roads. The dim streetlights flickered every once and a while.

Suddenly someone grabbed Kate and covered her mouth. They dragged her into an alley way. The person put Kate in the back of a van. "Where are you taking me?" Kate asked. "Shut up!" A deep low voice said. Kate noticed a list.

"Kate should have been here over thirty minutes ago. She isn't answering her phone." Ava said as she tried calling Kate again. No answer. Da-dun-dee. Jadie looked at her phone. New text message. "If you want your friend you'll bring the jewelry box to Grayle Park.

"Oh no! We have to go to Grayle Park!" Jadie shouted before she grabbed her purse. "Why!?" Ava asked. "Because that is where Kate will be!"

Jadie and Ava got into Jadie's car. They stopped at the antique shop to get the jewelry box. Then they headed towards Grayle Park.

The only vehicle was a van in the corner of the parking lot. They drove up to the van. Jadie and Ava climbed out of the car. Jadie handed the man in the black mask the jewelry box. Ava and Jadie put Kate in the back seat.

Jadie walked up to the man. "Why do you want some boring old jewelry box?" "Listen lady, there are always secrets. For you that's what it will stay. A secret. Jadie kicked the man in the shin. She snatched the jewelry box and got into the car. She put the car in reverse and drove off.

Jadie looked in the rear view mirror. "He isn't even following us," said Jadie. "Why did you take that back?" Ava asked pointing at the jewelry box. "There is a reason why he wanted this empty jewelry box and I'm going to find out why."

Jadie started pounding her foot down. "The break isn't workingng!" Jadie shouted. "WHAT!?" Ava was scared. "Where heading towards the lake. We will drown!" Jadie said.

Jadie took a sharp turn left. The car started rolling until it hit the fence. The fence wouldn't hold the car's weight for long. Thee fence creaked. Jadie climbed out. Then Ava climbed out of the car.

The fence shifted. "Hurry, help me get Kate." They got the door to open. They both grabbed ahold of Kate. There was a loud crack. The fence gave up. It snapped apart. Down went the car.

With Kate.

Jadie and Ava started crying. What an evil world. They cried on the side of the road for at least ten minutes before Jadie said, "Let's get a taxi to take us to my parents house. At least we will be a little more safe there."

"Thanks for letting us crash here tonight mom." Jadie said. "No problem sweetie."
