Episode 5: Jewelry Box

"She can go home now," the nurse said. Jadie, Ava, and Kate got into Ava's car. "So have some stuff to explain to you guys. That man has been after my jewelry box for almost two weeks now. He isn't normal. It is like he has paranormal abilities. I'm pretty sure he stopped the brakes from working." Jadie started. "He never touched the car." Ava said. "He doesn't have to." Jadie said with a scared look in her eyes. "Why does he want the jewelry box?" Kate asked. "I don't know, but I'm going to try my best to figure it out." Jadie said as she glanced at the pink jewelry box sticking out of her purse. Why was the box so special?

Jadie took the jewelry box to work. She tried finding something special about it. Jadie decided to take it to a professional antique examiner.

Something was stuck in Kate's mind. The man's warning. He said, "You can't trust anyone." What did he mean? Why would he say that? Lots of questions.

"This is a very nice jewelry box. From around the 1950's. Other than that there isn't anything I can tell you about it." the antique examiner said. "Thank you for all your help," said Jadie.

An old lady walked into the café. The lady grabbed Ava's arm really tightly and started screaming, "The key, the key, the silver key. Will unlock the history!" "Grandma. Leave that girl alone. Im sorry about that." a teenager said. Ava's arm was red and had nail marks. That was crazy.

A letter came in the mail. Kate opened it. It read:
The key, the key, the silver key.
Will unlock the history.
Don't lose to the deadly stranger.
Or Crystal Meadows will be in danger.

P.S. Don't let Rhoonist get in your way.

What did it mean? Kate called Jadie.
"Jadie I just got a really weird letter in the mail." "Okay I'll be right over and I'm bringing the jewelry box."

Ding-dong. "Hey Jadie, come in." "Is this the letter?" Jadie asked. "Yeah, that's it." Jadie reads the letter. "What or who is Rhoonist?" Jadie asks. "I don't know. I think it might be the man. I want to know." Kate said.

Ding-dong. "Oh. It's Ava." "Guys something crazy just happened. An old lady just grabbed my arm and screamed, 'the key, the key, the silver key. Will unlock the history.' She was weird. She hurt my arm." Ava said.

"Wait, look at this letter Ava. It starts out with the same two lines that the old lady said." Jadie said as she handed the letter to Ava. "Maybe this letter is from the old lady. Let's go to the café and see if she is still there," Ava said. They ran to the car and drove to the café.

The old lady was walking out of the café. "Hey ma'am!" Ava said. The lady turned around. "You can call me Shelley, and I'm sorry about your arm. I was only trying to help." the lady said. "It is okay. Maybe you can help us now. We want to ask some questions Shelley." Ava said. Shelley looked at the three of them and said, "My address is 882 Blue Stream Drive. Give me a few minutes to clean up the place." "See you then." said Ava.

877, 878, 879, 880, 881, 882. The girls get out of the car. The front door was already open. "Oh no! Oh No!" Kate said. There was Shelley, laying in a large pool of blood. Written on the wall in blood there was message that said, "Poor Shelley. Some secrets must stay secrets. - Rhoonist

"This was our only source of answers, and now she is dead." said Jadie. "Come on we need to get back to my house. You left the jewelry box there!"Kate said to Jadie. Kate drove as fast as she could. They couldn't let Rhoonist get the jewelry box from Kate's house.

They rushed inside. The jewelry box was still in the same place. Jadie took the jewelry box off the couch. "At least Rhoonist didn't get the jewelry box." said Ava. Suddenly Jadie dropped the jewelry box. I hit the floor hard.

"I think your jewelry box broke Jadie," Kate said. Jadie picked it up and said, "It isn't broken. A secret compartment opened." "What is in there?" Ava asked.

"A silver key."

"The letter. Is it a connection?" Kate said. " Maybe. The only way we will know for sure is if we can find what this key goes to." Jadie responded. "There must be more secrets than we thought. Look at the next line of the letter, 'will unlock the history.' this is dangerous." said Ava. "I have a feeling. Feeling that this is just the beginning." Jadie said.
