 P.O.V. CARINA DELUCA-BISHOP

I never imagined that it would be possible to feel so much love at once. Sitting in the hospital bed, with little Nina snuggled up in my arms, the world seemed to have been reduced to this moment, to this miracle.

Her eyes were still closed, and I could see the small blonde lashes against his soft skin, his body as delicate as a dream. She was perfect, so calm, so quiet, completely oblivious to the world around.

I felt a heat spread through my chest, and smiled, feeling every emotion pouring out on me. She was our second child, and even though I had already gone through it with Liam, the feeling was completely different, completely new.

Each time was a rediscovery, as if motherhood always brought a new layer of love and vulnerability. Heard the door of the room open softly and looked up, seeing Maya enter with Liam in her lap.

He was excited, swinging his legs and with a huge smile on his face, his childhood joy contagious. My wife wore him carefully, but there was something in her eyes, a special glow, something only I could recognize. It was the same emotion, the same unconditional love that I felt now.

- Ready to meet your little sister, probie? - she asked, kissing the top of his head, and I saw how Liam tried to lean forward, curious.

Her smile was so genuine, so full of tenderness. My heart warmed even more when I saw them together.

- Si! - Liam replied, or rather babbled happily.

He was still learning to form complete sentences, but his enthusiasm was evident. He already knew that something big had changed in our house.

- First of all, just to make sure - Maya said softly as she approached the bed - I asked Miranda to cut Liam's nails, I had forgotten to do that. Just so that he doesn't hurt Nina unintentionally.

I laughed softly, appreciating how Maya thought in every detail. She was always one step ahead, taking care of everything with so much affection and concern.

I knew that the transition to being a mother of two would bring challenges, but with her by my side, I felt safe. Everything would be fine.

- Grazie, bella - I said, my voice soft, as I made a sign for her to come closer.

Maya walked up to me and sat down next to me in bed, still with our son on her lap. He was restless, stretching his curious little hands towards Nina, but with an impressive care for someone of his age.

- Liam, look, this is your sorellina - I muttered with a smile, tilting the girl a bit so he could see her better - That's Nina.

He looked at the sister with his big curious eyes, almost as if trying to understand what was happening. He said nothing, but his little fingers stretched towards Nina, stopping at centimeters of her, as if hesitating.

- Slowly, Lilo - Maya instructed him calmly, holding her hand with kindness - She's very small, okay?

Liam seemed fascinated. His touch was soft, lightly stroking the blanket that enveloped Nina, and my heart melted at seeing him so careful. I knew this moment would be unforgettable for both of us.

- You'll be a great brother - I said to him, smiling as Nina moved slightly in my lap, as if she was recognizing the presence of someone new.

- Mamma, baby - he whispered, looking at me and then her, his voice full of sweetness that I did not expect.

He was always affectionate, but now there was something different, something deeper. I felt my eyes fill with tears, unable to hold the emotion that swelled in my chest.
