POV: Third Person
The overly sterilized white and cream colored walls of the hospital waiting room, did very little to quell Milo's restless energy. He was trying his best not to start pacing around, afraid it would look like he was acting "erratically" again. The door opened, and Milo immediately jumped to his feet.
"How long are they gonna keep her locked up in there?" Milo demanded in exasperation, as Mrs. and Mr. O. had finally returned to the waiting room. The hospital wasn't allowing Milo to leave on his own and he had to wait for them to finish meeting with Estella's Doctors.
"Milo, she's not locked up!" Mrs. O. exclaimed. "If you had done what I told you, they might've let you see her. And now that you're not allowed to see her, it's going to take her that much longer to get better."
"I took a chance, okay! I knew that if they knew the truth about all my friggin' issues, that they'd keep us apart. And, that's exactly what happened, isn't it!" Milo clapped back.
"I'm going to warn you one last time about your tone." Mrs. O. voiced, ominously.
Milo blew out a sigh of frustration.
"Yes, Ma'am." He conceded, trying very hard not to say it through gritted teeth. He looked down at his feet, his hands now stuffed in his pockets.
"I'm sorry." He looked down at Mr. O. "I'm sorry, Mr. O."Mr. O. slapped his hand down on the back of Milo's neck affectionately, pulling him to his level. Milo pressed his lips inward and peered back at him with regretful eyes.
"We wanted you to know that we understand. And we know that you both do so much better when you're together. We're not dismissing the Doctor's concerns though, because you both need to get some help, but we're going to do everything we can so you at least get to see her. This isn't right." Mr. O. expressed, genuinely.
Milo nodded gratefully, as he felt his eyes start to prickle.
"Did you get to see her at all? Is she okay?" He asked, carefully.
"She's getting some rest. They gave her medicine for her heart rate and something to help her relax. We'll be back first thing in the morning." Mrs. O. assured him.
"Did she ask about me?" Milo uttered, lowly.
"No, mijo. She was asleep." Mrs. O. explained.
Milo nodded and yawned.
"Let's get you home. You need to rest too." Said Mr. O.
Milo looked over at the waiting room chairs, thoughtfully.
"No, Milo. Don't even think about it. You're not sleeping in the waiting room." Mrs. O. chided him, knowingly.
Milo released a long relenting sigh,
"Alright yeah, it was just a thought. I figured you wouldn't go for that, anyhow." He muttered.
-----POV: Estella
"I'm not staying here!!" I shouted at the Doctor from my stiff hospital bed, my parents both wincing and my father pinching the bridge of his nose in the corner of the room.
"I understand that staying here might be frightening, but I am going to ask you to try to remain calm, Estella." The Doctor implored her. "Getting yourself escalated right now is only going to make things worse."
"Calm?" I repeated incredulously, with a dark chuckle. "You just informed me that I'm basically a prisoner, and you think that you should be allowed to dictate my relationship with my boyfriend. In what world is calm even a fucking option?"
