Chapter 7: Family Day

~Evie's POV~
Me, Mal, Jay, and Carlos are in the boys' dorm room, discussing our plans for coronation day.

"Okay, we know what the wand looks like, it'll be up on the dais underneath the beast's spell jar, and we'll enter from here. Evie will be in the very front. Me, Carlos, and Jay will be on the balcony." Mal explains to us.

"So if I find us a limo, and the barrier is broken... we can get back onto the isle, with the wand." Carlos says hesitantly.

"Perfect. Evie?" Mal says.

"Yeah?" I respond sadly.

"Use this to take out the driver. Two sprays and he'll be out like a light." Mal says, handing me a sleeping potion in a perfume bottle, one of her mother's spells.

"Okay, M..." I say, looking down in sadness.

"You want to break Ben's love spell, E?" Mal asks me quietly.

"Yeah, you know, for...after. When we take over the world with evil and steal everything good and beautiful... Ben still being in love with me seems a little cruel." I say, my heart breaking at the idea of Ben waking up from the spell and realizing it wasn't real.

"E?" Mal says, looking concerned for me for the first time.

I go to the kitchens, singing a heartbroken rendition of 'Someday My Prince Will Come', Snow White's famous song. Somehow it felt fitting, as I was baking a brownie that would remove the boy who I love, love's spell.

[Family Day: Auradon Prep Courtyard]

All of the parents of the 'good kids' had gathered, including Beast and Belle. I was nervous to meet them, but a little excited.

Ben, Audrey, Chad, Doug, Lonnie, and many other AKs perform a modern rendition of Be Our Guest. I watch them perform, with Mal at my side.

~Ben's POV~

After our successful performance, I go to join my parents as they are having a royal portrait taken.

"Just here?" My father says to the photographer.

"Ready?" The photographer says.

"Oh, by the way, I have a new girlfriend." I say.

My mom perks up. "Oh? Well, I never wanted to say anything, but I always thought Audrey was quite conceited and spoiled. But, Aurora is a close friend, so..." My mom says.

"Do we know your new girlfriend?" My dad asks.

"On the count of one, two..." The photographer says.

"Well, you sort of do. Evie!" I excitedly call Evie over.

"Bye, M." Evie says to Mal before coming over. I affectionately put my arm around her.

"Three!" The photographer says, taking the photo.

"Huh?" My mom says, bewildered.

"Evie, I want to introduce you to my parents." I say. "This is Evie, from the island."

"Oh..." My mom says hesitantly.

"My girlfriend." I remind my parents, wanting them to be welcoming.

"Hi, Evie." My mom says, smiling slightly.

"It's an honor, your majesty." Evie says politely, curtsying to them.

"I was thinking that Evie could join us for lunch today." I suggest to my parents.

"Well, why not? Any friend of Ben's..." My dad starts.

"I actually came with my friends." She gestures to Mal, Jay, and Carlos.
