Rebel-Controlled Sector

A squadron of X-Wings fly in tight formation past a three-armed defense station, passing a pair of CR-90 corvettes as they make their way on patrol further into space.

"All pilot's report in, let's make this scouting quick." The squadron leader orders.

"Game two reporting in."

"Game three here."

"Game four."

"Game five ready for combat."

"Relax, Valhound, this is just a patrol, we're not going to encounter anything here." Three says, closing his S-foils.

"Yeah yeah, you said that when those pirates attacked a few weeks ago." Four responds.

"Shut up, four." Three snaps back.

"Hang on- I'm picking up an unidentified small craft in sector 120-24, could be something." Two says.

"Then head there, let's see who popped up today."

The squadron glides through space, watching a small white dot get closer, before reaching it just to find a single piece of unknown equipment, floating in space aimlessly.

"The hell is that?" The game leader says, making a full stop for a closer look.

"I'm picking up a signal from it... Hyperspace coordinates?" Five says.

"Hyperspace co- Karabast, get back to the station!" Leader says, running full throttle and making an upward U-turn, flying back toward the Rebel outpost.

The rest of the squadron follows him as an Imperial Star Destroyer exits hyperspace directly next to the beacon, immediately firing turbolasers and flak rounds at the squadron, destroying Game 2 as Tie fighters exit the hangar, catching up to the Rebel squadron.

Imperial-I Class Star Destroyer, Blade

Hyperspace

"Admiral Cruz, they never suspected a thing." An Imperial Captain says.

"Good, the rest of the fleet will be there shortly, wait for us and let your fighters distract them." Admiral Cruz orders, a smug look on his face as his ship begins to slow. "Arm all fighters and bombers, power up the shields."

"Affirmative."

The ship exits hyperspace, sitting directly above and behind the Star Destroyer in front of it as two more Star Destroyers exit hyperspace, making it a diamond formation, and Imperial Nebulan-B Frigates, more armored and complete hulls, exit hyperspace in random formation around the Star Destroyers.

Each star destroyer launches its entire complement of fighters as the frigates follow in suit, launching a squadron each as the Imperial fleet stays stationary, simply watching the Tie fighters wreak havoc among the Rebel squadron.

"Blasted- How did they find us here?!" Game leader says that he is tailed by a pair of Tie Fighters, flying past the XQ-3 Defense station, and a group of Tie Bombers fire ion torpedoes and disable one of the corvettes.

"We probably have a rat or something—maybe a probe droid fou—"One of the pilots' transmissions is disabled as a squad of Tie Fighters surrounds his fighter and eviscerates it.

"Why aren't those Star Destroyers attacking? Are they just letting their Tie fighters attack?" Another pilot says as the second CR-90 explodes in an orange and yellow inferno, wreckage and scrap flying across the dogfight.

"Likely arming their turbolasers, set coordinates for Lothal, then Yavin IV, we're not making it out of this fighting, make sure to stay so the transport can load personnel and equipment, keep those bombers off of it." Game leader orders, shooting the wing off of a Tie Fighter making a strafing run on the station.

Suddenly, volleys upon volleys of turbolasers fire from the Imperial fleet, the shields aboard the station immediately collapsing under the turbolaser fire, and the station's armor crushing itself under the collapsing fire.

A pair of Tie Fighters begin to trail Game Leader, firing dozens of lasers as he tries to dodge his way through the battle, taking several shots in the back of his fighter, disabling crucial systems.

"They're almost loaded, start your hyperdrive, be gone within the minute, I... My hyperdrive is disabled, I can't follow you. God speed." He says, flying toward a squadron of bombers and firing a flurry of lasers into it, destroying most as he takes fire to his maneuvering systems, uncontrollably crashing into one bomber, killing himself and the bomber.

"Halt fire, let their survivors escape, there is no advantage to killing them." Cruz orders, the turbolaser fire slowing down severely just to a few guns firing at the Rebel fighters.

He watches as the remaining X-Wings and the GR-75 jump to hyperspace, leaving the battle behind them.

"Send a report to Tarkin and send ground forces to the planet's surface, let's take this planet back, shall we?"
