Yavin IV

Rebel Alliance Headquarters

A squadron of X-Wings fly past the mast structure of the Liberation, flying toward the ancient temples refitted for Alliance purposes.

"Tempest squadron, patrol over, land in bay four, and report for debriefing, shouldn't be there long, we saw absolutely nothing today." Tempest Leader says, slowing his fighter down as he lowers his landing gear, coming to a hover as he lands in the upper hangar deck of the primary base.

The rest of the squadron lands on the same level, an A-Wing exiting the hangar to give room to the squadron of fresh X-Wings.

Mako opens his cockpit as the ladder on the side of his fighter lowers, climbs out of the fighter, takes his helmet off, and walks to a holoscreen surrounded by small seats in the center of the circular and open hangar bay.

He sits down, placing his helmet next to him as the rest of the pilots sit down with them.

"Uneventful patrol I see," A Rebel officer says, walking to the hologram table with a datapad in hand. "If It were a normal day, you'd have not even been here, but I have a mission for you tomorrow that you'll need notice of. There's a prison transport on Wobani holding a group of people we need in our Alliance, and a U-Wing simply can't waltz through a fleet of Tie Fighters."

The officer connects the datapad to the hologram, opening a planetary image of the prison planet. "There are two squadrons of Tie Fighters and a few defense satellites blockading the hyperlane route, Gold Squadron will destroy the satellites while you take down the squadrons of fighters, and then, the U-Wing will go down and assault the base, you are to give it fire support if necessary."

The map zooms on an orbital view, several defense satellites powered by solar and armed with medium laser cannon turrets and an orbital hangar filled with two Tie Squadrons and minimal defense guns behind them.

"Should be routine, especially with your new fighters we recently procured." The officer says. "The rest of the briefing will commence tomorrow, but the other parts of the op are ready if you would like to start it earlier."

"How about it boys? Let's hold a vote, head back up, and recover some prisoners now or lay on your asses and wait?" Tempest Leader says. Man of the pilots vote to start it now, with only two of the twelve pilots saying no. "I guess it's settled, get your fighters fueled and armed, I'll inform Gold Squadron and the U-Wing we'll be ready within the hour."
