I once felt guilty trapped in a world big enough for me to be scared
day and night, followed by an unstoppable shadow determined to dim my light
Dirty and shaky hands, full of invisible scars
I stood upon every fall and picked myself up
Each challenge I faced made me stronger, awake
until I found my own voice ready to step up and make a choice
Difficult, at first
cursed, many others would say
Looking back, insecure of who I once was'
proud of the woman who is now speaking up
