Chapter Six

She holds the coffee mug she made for herself and walks out of Lindsay's house. Lerato wanted to have a sleepover with Lindsay and so Naledi did not mind it.

She heads for the door."Where are you going?"She turns around,seeing Nathan holding his own coffee and book.

"Fresh air."

"Mhm."He replies,opens the door and looks at Naledi."Ladies first."He says, causing Naledi to go first before he follows behind her.

Naledi goes to the small house fencing and puts her cup down before stirring the sugar. She folds her arms,looking around the neighborhood that is based just outside Midrand and Naledi is happy Lerato was able to do this for them.

To think they used to live in the township and now they were here. Lerato is definitely a role model and Naledi cannot wait to make her happy.

"Slept well?"She turns around and sees a shirtless Stephan. She was able to see why Lerato was so shy around him.

"Yeah."She replies and Stephan rests his arms on the fence as he watches the sun rises with Naledi.

"Naledi means sun?"Stephan asks and Naledi looks at him.

"It means star."She replies and Stephan nods his head.

"But is the sun not like a star, scientifically?"Stephan asks, causing Naledi to turn around and looks at Nathan who is a chuckling.

"I have no words for you."Naledi replies and takes a sip of her coffee.

Stephan and Nathan laugh and watch the sun shine and almost blinds her and Stephan."How are you feeling about the move?I am sure you missed your old friends."

"Something like that but I am actually enjoying the quiet life."Naledi replies and Stephan nods his head."I saw you at a party,what were you doing at a teen party?"Nathan chuckles and Stephan smacks his lips.

"Answer the question Stephan Micheal,what were you doing at a kids' party?"Lerato asks and Naledi laughs.

"What is my middle name doing in the sentence?"Stephan asks and Lerato rolls her eyes."I was invited by a friend and then I dragged this boring old man there."Stephan says,teasing Nathan.

"Okay Stephan."Nathan chuckles,closing the book and drinking his coffee. The group enjoys the coffee and morning sunrise before walking in the house for breakfast.

"Thank you for your presence Nathan,Stephan,Lerato and Naledi."Lindsay says and Naledi smiles."I want to discuss something important for all four of you."The four of them focuses on Lindsay as the cutlery is put down.

"Thank you so much for everyone's effect in my life and thank you for your unwavering love and understanding. Cancer is not easy and especially when life is so hard on its own. I do not want to dwell much on it but the issue has to be addressed and it is about my Will."

"Mom-"Stephan says and Lindsay sighs heavily.

"Now or never Stephan."She says and Stephan bows her head."Especially when two people who are mentioned in the Will are here."Lindsay says and Naledi and Lerato looks at each other before looking at Lindsay."I have mentioned Naledi and Lerato. Lerato,you know the relationship I have with you and how it is. You received me with love and respect,it is to appreciate you for all these years. I took you as my own daughter and I feel like that is what kept my relationship with you going well. I want to leave something behind for you."Lindsay says and Naledi looks at Lerato who looks shocked.

"And for Naledi is to help further her education and also because I took her as my own grandchild. I know it is a very hard pill to swallow but you both healed a wound I did not know was even there."Lindsay explains and Naledi looks down with arms folded because she was just shocked to even hear what was just talked about.

"Can we eat mom,the table is so tense?"Nathan asks,seeing Naledi still in a frenzy and shocked.

"Okay-let us eat."Lindsay says, Naledi takes a fork and starts eating breakfast. She honestly didn't know what to say or how to reply.

"Coffee?"A soft,husky asks, causing Naledi to turn around and see it is Nathan.

"No thank you."She replies and continues to eat but the thought of a Will just makes her feel some type of way."May I please be excused?"She asks before getting up without a respond and walks towards the bathroom.

She closes the door,kneels down and stares into space."A whole Will?Am I that important to someone?"She asks herself,she just really not believing that this is really happening.

She just does not know what to actually do,and she wants to know the real reason behind the whole Will.

She has to focus on paper 3 English but now she is stressed about her name being on the Will.

A knocks interrupts her thoughts, causing her to get up and wipes her eyes that had tears coming out. She washes her face with water and then uses a towel to wipe it dry.

"Naledi."A knock comes through and she quickly unlocks the door.She opens it,seeing Lerato and Nathan standing there."Are you okay?"

"Yeah-"She says, causing Lerato to narrow her eyes.

"I will give you two space."Nathan announces before walking away from the bathroom.

"A whole Will, Lerato?"Naledi whispers yell, causing Lerato to chuckle."What was the real reason for you to tell me to check up on her?"Naledi asks, causing Lerato to chuckle before looking at her.

"What are you asking me?"Lerato asks again and chuckles."You think I was doing this to score a spot in her Will,you really don't know Mrs van der Berg like that. She is a kind woman and it also scares me. For you to think that of me is low,Naledi and you know it."Lerato whispers and almost wanting to cry.

"I work for my shit,I break my back for my shit and you think I came up with a silly plan to get myself and you on the Will?"Lerato asks and shakes her head."You won't understand,you are too young to even understand it. I will be at the dining table and you can join us or not... Wow!"Lerato says and Naledi feels more bad then she did.

It was not her intention but definitely curiosity killed a cat.
