It's been a while, but I finally have an update ready! I know I haven't been updating much, and I'm sorry about that. My training schedule has kept me super busy, so weekends are the only time I can work on Heartstrings.
If you're enjoying the story, please show some love with votes and comments! It would really motivate me to keep updating every week.
Also, it's hard to believe it's been a whole year since I started Heartstrings! I'm so thankful for everyone who has been here with me. Your support means everything! 😭
Please don't forget to vote and comment! 🥲💜 (The previous chapter has over 1K views, but it doesn't have at least 80 votes. That's a little sad, isn't it?)

Let's step into the exciting journey of Kim Taehyung and Jeon Jungkook as their story continues to unfold. 😇
Welcome to the next captivating chapter of their extraordinary tale. 💞

The sky was painted with shades of orange and violet as Jungkook stirred awake, the quiet of the early evening settling over him like a blanket. His eyes were puffy, and his throat felt raw, faint traces of dried tears marking his cheeks. He could barely remember when he had fallen asleep, but he did recall the weight of his emotions crashing down until exhaustion finally overtook him.
The memories—the ones he had tried so hard to push away—seemed quieter now, as if softened by the passage of a few hours. Although still a dull ache in his chest, the pain was bearable, distant, like a storm that had left only its drizzle behind.
Jungkook sat up slowly, rubbing his eyes and allowing himself a moment to breathe.
He reached for his phone, the screen lighting up his weary face. He squinted at the brightness, his eyes still adjusting to the fading sunlight outside. It was nearly 6:00 p.m., but time barely registered with him. He was about to set the phone back down when a notification caught his eye: Mingyu just posted a story.
Curious, he tapped on it, and in an instant, the screen filled with an image of Mingyu and Jimin standing close, their arms wrapped protectively around someone smaller between them—Jimin's little brother, Jun. A bandage was wound around Jun's head, and although he managed a small, brave smile, his eyes looked tired. The caption read, "Get well soon, champ."
Jungkook's stomach dropped.
"What the hell happened?" panic creeping into his veins. Jun, the kid who was always so full of energy, was now looking fragile and weak.
Jungkook's hand shook slightly as he dialed Jimin's number, his heart pounding in his chest with a mix of worry and frustration. He listened to the call ring through, only to be met with voicemail.
His thumb hovered over the screen as he tried Mingyu next, hoping, "Please, someone pick up." But there was nothing—just the same hollow tone and then silence. Neither of them answered, and it was as if his worst fear had been confirmed.
He slumped back onto the couch, the empty silence around him pressing down like a weight. "How could they not tell me about Jun?" he wondered, his throat tightening. They were his friends, people he'd thought he could rely on, yet here he was, learning about Jun's accident through a social media post, like an outsider. A pang of sadness crept into his chest, joined by guilt that he hadn't been there for them, that he hadn't known sooner.
