Jungkook sat at his desk in the classroom, his gaze fixed on the front where the lecturer stood. Mingyu and Jimin engaged in lively conversation beside him, but Jungkook appeared distant, lost in his thoughts.
Two days had passed since Jungkook reluctantly agreed to the marriage proposal. The Kims planned the wedding for the upcoming weekend in Busan. However, Jungkook's parents decided to hold a casual Pyebaek Ceremony at their home before the wedding, inviting close family members from both families.
Today was the day of the ceremony, yet Jungkook had to attend university in the morning to submit a few assignments. With only half a day of classes scheduled, he planned to attend them before the evening's ceremony.
Tonight, the Kim family will be visiting Jungkook's home, bringing with them the person Jungkook despised the most: Kim Taehyung.
The thought of facing Taehyung and participating in the rituals with him made Jungkook feel annoyed and helpless.
Suddenly, "Jeon Jungkook," someone called, but Jungkook was too lost in his thoughts to pay attention.
Mingyu and Jimin exchanged confused glances, and Mingyu nudged Jungkook. Startled, Jungkook snapped out of his trance and looked around.
"Mister Jeon Jungkook, where are you lost?" the lecturer inquired.
Jungkook hurriedly rose from his seat and bowed apologetically. "Sorry, ma'am. Please excuse me."
The lecturer chuckled warmly. "I understand my lecture might be boring, but that doesn't mean you'll sleep with your eyes open."
Laughter filled the classroom as Jungkook awkwardly flashed a bunny smile.
As the bell chimed, signaling the end of the day, the lecturer's voice resonated through the classroom, "Okay, students, you may all leave now," she instructed kindly.
As the trio packed their bags and made their way out of the campus, Jungkook felt the weight of two pairs of suspicious eyes on him.
"What's up? Why are you both looking at me like that?" he asked, trying to appear nonchalant.
Mingyu and Jimin exchanged glances before Jimin spoke up. "We should be asking you what's going on, Kook. You've been acting strange all day. Tell us what's the matter, huh?"
Jungkook hesitated, then stammered, "Nothing—nothing at all." Yet Mingyu remained unconvinced.
"Really? Do you think we don't notice these things, bunny?" Mingyu smiled softly. "It's clear that something's bothering you."
"It's just that I'm feeling tired," Jungkook replied.
"Tired? But why? And that meeting you had with Kim Taehyung—" Jimin's sentence was abruptly interrupted by Jungkook's sudden outburst.
"I said I don't want to talk about that meeting! Can't you guys understand?" Jungkook's voice rose with frustration, catching Jimin and Mingyu off guard. Jimin flinched, taken aback by Jungkook's unexpected anger.
Mingyu playfully hit Jimin's head and interjected, "You mochi, why would he even think of someone else when I'm around?"
His attempt to lighten the situation worked, and Jungkook couldn't suppress a light smile. He admired how Mingyu effortlessly brings laughter to any serious situation.
