Y/N leaned against the wall in the lobby, watching Charlie pace back and forth once more. Her frustration from earlier hadn't subsided, and the weight of the situation was starting to press heavily on Y/N's mind. As much as she tried to stay out of it, the sight of Charlie slowly unraveling gnawed at her.
Maybe there was something she could do. Something risky, but perhaps necessary.
Taking a deep breath, Y/N hesitantly stepped forward. "Charlie," she began, her voice soft but steady, "maybe there's someone else you could talk to. Someone who might be able to help... your dad."
Charlie froze mid-step and turned to face Y/N, her eyes widening in surprise. "My dad? You mean... Lucifer?"
Y/N nodded, trying to maintain her composure despite the gravity of what she was suggesting. "Yeah. I know things between you and him aren't great, but maybe he could help you connect to Heaven or give you advice on what to do."
Charlie bit her lip, her gaze dropping to the floor. "I... I don't know, Y/N. My relationship with my dad is... complicated. Ever since my mom left, we haven't really been close. I don't even know if he'd listen to me."
Y/N's mind raced. She knew that involving Lucifer would make her mission infinitely more dangerous, but Charlie's well-being was at stake. Keeping Lucifer at a distance might be possible, but if he came too close, he could sense her aura, her connection to Heaven. It was a gamble, but Y/N felt like she had no other choice.
"I know it's a risk," Y/N continued carefully, "but it might be worth a shot. You've tried everything else. Maybe he can help you get through to Heaven... or at least give you some guidance."
Charlie stared at Y/N for a long moment, uncertainty etched across her face. The idea of reaching out to her father clearly unsettled her, but Y/N could see the flicker of hope in her eyes. As much as Charlie tried to distance herself from Lucifer, he was still her father.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, Charlie sighed and gave a small nod. "Okay. I'll... I'll try. I'll call him."
Y/N's stomach dropped, knowing the danger she had just invited into the hotel. But she forced a smile, nodding back at Charlie. "I think it'll be worth it."
As Charlie left the room to find a way to contact Lucifer, Y/N stood frozen in place, her mind whirling with the implications of what was about to happen. If Lucifer came, she would have to be extremely careful. He was the King of Hell, after all, and could likely sense the divine energy still lingering within her. One wrong move, one misstep, and her cover could be blown.
"I hope I didn't just make things worse..." Y/N muttered to herself, clenching her fists. She had to be ready, no matter what happened next.
---
It didn't take long for word to spread throughout the hotel. Charlie had called her father, and to everyone's surprise, he had agreed to visit. A strange mixture of excitement and anxiety buzzed among the residents as they prepared for his arrival.
Y/N, however, kept her distance. She couldn't afford to be in close proximity when Lucifer showed up. Every step she took felt like walking on eggshells, knowing that any interaction with the King of Hell could spell disaster for her mission.
In the distance, she could hear Charlie nervously instructing the others to make the hotel presentable. "We should throw a little welcome party for him!" Charlie announced, though her voice wavered with uncertainty. "It'll be... nice."
The idea of a party for Lucifer sent a shiver down Y/N's spine, but she knew it was part of Charlie's nature to try to make peace, even with her estranged father. It was just another complication Y/N would have to navigate.
---
When Lucifer finally arrived, it was as if the very air around the hotel changed. His presence was powerful, almost suffocating, and Y/N could feel it even from a distance. She stayed as far away as possible, watching from the shadows as Charlie nervously greeted her father.
Lucifer, tall and imposing, with an air of casual indifference, glanced around the hotel with mild curiosity. "Well, well," he drawled, his voice smooth yet commanding. "The Hazbin Hotel. I must say, I wasn't expecting a call from you, dear daughter. But I'm... intrigued."
Charlie fidgeted, forcing a smile. "I-I just thought... maybe we could talk. I've been trying to get through to Heaven about my rehabilitation plans, and I was hoping you might have some advice."
Lucifer chuckled, his crimson eyes gleaming with amusement. "Rehabilitation, huh? Still trying to save this forsaken place, I see."
Charlie swallowed hard but nodded. "Yes, I am. I believe that everyone deserves a second chance."
Y/N watched from the shadows, her heart pounding. This was a side of Lucifer she hadn't seen before, at least not up close. His charisma was undeniable, but there was something dangerous lurking beneath his calm exterior. Every instinct Y/N had screamed at her to stay hidden, to avoid his gaze at all costs.
The party that followed was tense, to say the least. Lucifer, though playing the part of the intrigued father, seemed distant, his attention drifting in and out of the conversation with Charlie. The residents of the hotel were equally on edge, unsure how to act around the King of Hell.
Y/N remained on high alert, keeping her distance but staying close enough to observe. Every moment Lucifer lingered in the hotel, she felt the pressure mounting. One wrong move, and he could sense her divine nature. She had to remain careful-more careful than ever before.
But little did she know, her mission had just gotten far more complicated.
