As Yn made her way to the staff room after settling in, she decided to confirm her flight schedule for the day. She approached Mr. Choi, the staff manager who handled the scheduling for pilots, his desk cluttered with papers and flight logs. He was a familiar face, known for being organized and efficient, but with a sense of humor that made him well-liked.
"Excuse me, Mr. Choi," Yn said politely, her hands clasped in front of her. "Could you check my flight schedule for today?"
Mr. Choi looked up from his computer, adjusting his glasses. "Ah, Captain Kim! First day, right?" he said with a grin.
Yn nodded, smiling. "Yes, sir. I just wanted to confirm the details."
Mr. Choi clicked away at his keyboard for a moment, before his screen populated with her information. He scanned the data before nodding.
"Let's see... Ah, here it is. Your flight today is domestic, to Busan. You'll be flying a Boeing 737—good aircraft for your first official flight." He turned his chair towards her with a smile. "And your co-pilot is none other than Captain Lee."
"Captain Lee?" Yn repeated, recognition sparking in her mind. She'd heard of him many times during her training. A professional pilot with a stellar reputation, Captain Lee was known not only for his skills but also for his encouraging and supportive nature. It seemed like good fortune was on her side.
"Yes, he's one of the best," Mr. Choi said, tapping the screen. "You're in good hands. He's the type of pilot who takes care of his team. You'll learn a lot from him."
Yn exhaled a little, relieved. "That's good to know. Thank you, Mr. Choi."
Mr. Choi winked, leaning back in his chair. "Don't mention it, Captain. You're officially part of the crew now. Go show them what you're made of."
With a nod of appreciation, Yn left the scheduling office feeling a bit more at ease. Knowing that she would be flying alongside Captain Lee helped calm her nerves. As she walked toward the briefing area to meet him, she couldn't help but think about how everything was finally falling into place.
Today wasn't just about taking her first flight—it was about proving to herself that she was ready for this. Ready to embrace her role, ready to soar.
Yn grabbed her suitcase and flight bag, the weight of them grounding her as she walked through the airport terminal. With each step, her heart raced a little faster—this was it. Today was the beginning of her journey as a professional pilot, and she could hardly believe it was finally happening.
As she neared the glass corridors leading to the gates, something caught her eye. Pausing for a moment, she looked out through a large glass window that overlooked the runway. And there it was—the Boeing 737 she would be flying today. It stood tall, gleaming under the soft light of the morning sun, its wings spread wide as if it were ready to take flight.
